Good Morning All
Enjoy your fishing N9eav
Special (((Hugs))) to Smokey today and anyone else who needs one.
Not raining here at the moment but is overcast and very wet from last nights rain. Housework today and paperwork later - easier when the garden isnt so tempting.
Have a possibility of a part-time job locally, someone may ring me today. The only downside is they may want me to cover someone on the half term week but my OH will be at home with the kids so that wont be too bad. I cant do 1 day though as DD has a hospital appointment in London. Am half excited as the money will just go to overpayments to the debts, but also half scared as havnt worked outside the house in a long time. I will also need to be very organised but I need that anyway as working at home has made my self discipline slip.
Not sure whats for dinner tonight but one thing I am sure of is that I am going to write a menu plan for the coming week - fell off that wagon completely!
Hope you all have a good Friday.

Morning gang....
Dull here, so I don't think I will be wearing shorts for work today.
Work until 3, then I pop home and I'm back out to my Friday Teatime job by 4.30. It's not too bad, as I should leave by 7, although if the shop's busy, I have to wait until they have all finished.
Chippy tea for Mr Twit and Miss Twit, not sure what I'll have...I'm trying to shed a few ounces before we go away.
Miss Twit has got her PE GCSE today, so fingers crossed.
N9eav enjoy the fishing and lets hope you can stock the freezer, Diesel by us is about 119p it costs me a fortune to fill the big car, so I'm sticking to my tiny one.
Donny hope the voice returns and you begin to feel better.
Catowen how's the leg doing?
Twink was Kyle's reaction to the paint as expected?
Hugs to Smoky, MrsMix Penpin and Candygirl.
Love to all The Twit. :grouphug:
Hester....does Katy's flight home not have a luggage allowance, or have you tried explaining this to her.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Morning everybody :hello:
Not so nice here today, bit breezy. I hope it stays dry for a while.
DD2 is wanting to take her bike to school this morning and her Dad and I promised her she could. It's going to be a long walk for me at a snails pace
Nothing at all planned for today again, Mum brought me some books down on Wednesday night so I have plenty of reading material. DH has taken charge this morning again before going to work, so I have nothing to do
Hugs to smoky, pen pin, Mrsmix Donny Gal and anyone else who is need of one :grouphug:
See you all later, I will probably have to sleep after walking DD2 to school :eek:0 -
Morning all.
Another fabulous day for me. It might be a bit cloudy outside but as the sun is shining in my heart, the weather is no problem at all. (By 'eck, a lyrical Yorkshireman, whatever next?)
It's Charlies mum's last day down here (I think?) so I'm going to form a picket line outside her caravan this morning. I WILL get a bacon butty
Other than the fact that tea will be something with mince, I've nowt much else to say. Well, apart from it's my wedding anniversary today. Anybody congratulates me and I'll get them at playtime
Take care all and have as good a day as possible. My thoughts are with anyone in need.

Ooooh Pen Pen, I was telling mr tru about your piggy course just yesterday, let us know how it goes
I rode to Lidl on wednesday and bought toothpaste, shampoo etc (why does it all run out at once?) and was going to nip to Morrisons for a few things today. I'd already planned it, cornflakes on BOGOF and a few other offers. Master tru wanted a driving lesson last night so we combined it with a shopping trip - I was very impressed with his driving :T - and he fancied a cheese and onion roll. Mr tru picked up a pack of 6 from the bakery, they were 6 for the price of 4, I pointed out that we only wanted one but he said 'but the pack works out cheaper per roll'. BUT WE ONLY WANT ONE SO IT ACTUALLY WORKS OUT MORE EXPENSIVE  He wanted some chicken breasts too, they were on offer and it worked out to £3 per LB (or something - I wasn't really listening cos I'd stopped talking to him after the roll incident). I told him if that desperate for them then he can learn how bloody well to joint a chicken. I thought he'd finally got the whole 'how to go shopping' thing but he hasn't  He got a shock at the till, it came to £83.67.
We've put Beans in with the family full-time now, I'll post a pic later - if I can manage to get them to stay close together long enough to actually take one lol.Bulletproof0 -
morning all
bright too early this morning i think, another day off but trying to conserve my petrol so wont be going far
went to asda yesterday and so much for trying to save money buying uht milk its gone up 5p a carton now and petrol here 1.16 a litre, deisel 1.24
i had time to browse round asda while waiting to visit auntie in hospital and noticed boxes of dried veg at 31p so as i had chicken stock at home i bought one and its made an agreeable soup for pennies as our butcher sells chicken stock bags for 25p thats a couple of carcases and wings, be worth asking if your butcher does that
i have my heating off now and it wont be going on again as i had time i went to tesco too and came away with 2 free energy saving bulbs and a power down plug, all free from scarf, you just tick some boxes what you are doing to save energy and asks what benefits you are on but she was telling people just to score out that bit so i did
hugs to smoky and family, penny-pincher and anniestar

Morning all
Not been on for a couple of days. Have developed the lurgy - come on own up who on here gave it to me??Came home from work at lunchtime yesterday as it came on in the morning and by then I was feeling so rough that I had to come home. Not going in today either so gonna sit here sneezing and sniffling on my own in peace.
Decided repairing the dishwasher was probably not going to be worth it due to its age so have a nice shiny new one. It sticks out a bit more than the other one so will have to remember not to bash one of the kitchen cupbards that is next to it every time I open it.
Just seen the weather forecast for tomorrow, hubby was going to do the brakes on my son's car but it seems its gonna rain for most of the day so thats out. My washing has been sitting on the line since yesterday morning soaking wet, lets hope it dries today.
Spag bol for dinner tonight and if I feel in the mood later on will make some fairy cakes as, bad girl that I am, I actually bought a cake this week and its nearly gone so will have to replenish the tin.
Hugs to anyone else feeling poorly or is going through a hard time, especially Smokey, first anniversaries after losing someone is extremely hard so try to remember all the happy birthdays gone by as well as coping with this one.

Hi everyone.
DONNY-GAL - your cold sounds really nasty - hope it clears up soon.
BENTHOSBOY - lovely to hear how happy you are! See, we told you things would get better, didn't we?:j
N9EAV - now I'm really looking forward to getting my petrol today! I love the smell of hawthorn, by the way - it reminds me of going to the park when I was little!
TATTYCATH - hope you have a good day.
SMOKY - special thoughts to you on Eric's birthday today.
ESSEX-GIRL - good luck with the job; I've only been working from home for 18 months and I find it's hard to discipline myself to do any work! There's so many other things to be getting on with.
SUNNYDAY - thanks for the link to the petrol price site - very useful nowadays!
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
PENPEN - have a great day out!
Having gone through all the palaver of taking DH's car to the mechanic to get the brake caliper replaced, it turned out that the supplier had sent the wrong one so we had to go and collect the car after dinner last night and will have to take it back on Monday. What a waste of time and fuel!
Well, having spent last night doing the payroll I now have to go to the bank and sort the wages out, pay a few bills and do my food shopping  - I suppose that'll have gone up again since last week; I'm dreading it getting any worse. I'm lucky that it's only DH and I now that the children have homes of their own; I don't know how all of you with LOs manage - it's surprising how much further food goes with just two to cook for. Mind you, if these prices carry on rising I might suggest that the whole family buys one big huge house and all live together to share the cost!
Well, WM has finished the first of two loads but I won't be hanging it on the line - it rained in the night and looks like it will start again soon; it's very gloomy outside.
We've been invited round to DS1's tomorrow to have a go on their new Wii Fit thing:rotfl: - that'll be a laugh if nothing else. The grandchildren can't wait to see us use it!
Well, I'd better go and finish my shopping list so see you all later.
