Ooooh yeah, maybe Mr A could be `disguised` as a responsible adult!

Can they both move in? :D

I like the idea of them both moving in - couldn't the small extra bedroom be ideal for Mr A if he's only going to spend 4 short nights a week there anyway? I think we need FrenchLodger to move in as well, otherwise things will get far too dull around here ;)

I think you should install bunkbeds, have them both stay, keep us updated as to their 'antics'.....

and we get to vote who gets evicted after a fortnight.....

  • Mr. A sounds ideal...perfect lodger, hardly ever there (I have one of them, if only I could swap the other dumba$$ for a midweek renter!!)

I think you should put a poll up so we can all vote!! Although people may be voting for entertainment purposes rather than your sanity, teehee!
  • Can I just say, that having read all through this thread this morning I am now terrified!

Myself and OH due to a serious dip in income (damn the redundancy train that keeps on rolling) have decided we need to take a lodger in. I really, really don't want to, but needs must...

So I put an ad on spareroom yesterday and had a reply from a (very) welsh man who asked if the house was on a council estate and whether there were any poles living nearby...because he had a nice car and didn't want it trashed.

Do I need to be worried?? He's coming round tonight to view the room. I keep telling myself that it's a two way thing - we don't have to offer him the room!

No you don't have to offer him the room furryjen. It's like interviewing people, you say you will get back to them. You MUST take out references too. there's a good thread in the Up Your Income pages on letting to lodgers including a copy of a licence to occupy agreement (it's not a tenancy).

think too about your house rules. I'd advise you spend a bit of time reading the letting to lodgers pages and post any more questions you have. you might want to start your own thread so we don't miss it?
