    Happy New Year!

We had a small party last night, with just a couple of guests... MauritiusLodger disappeared again into the depths of his room at about 7pm, never to be seen again... I did a buffet and picked up a couple of bottles of bubbly and NiceSoFarLodger brought some verrrrrrry nice vodka

Apparently we put a film on about 2am but I was zonked out on the beanbag by then. Two of our guests have stayed over, not a peep out of them yet!

How was everyone else's New Year celebration..?

I was home alone with a mug of coffee and a pack of cocktail sausages. Went and sat on the kerb outside and looked in the direction of town to watch fireworks at midnight.

    Happy New Year BL!

I was at home with DD1 (13) as she felt too poorly to go out. Think I saw the New Year in with a mug of coffee.....:o (although I did have a very nice toffee vodka, and a snowball over the course of the evening....:D )

Hope 2009 is good to you BadgerLady and PasturesNew

Happy New Year and a Prosperous one too, to all readers old and new, of BL`s exploits in Lodger Land!

May BL continue to live in happiness with her lodgers and chickens, whilst entertaining us all with tales of daily love/craziness/drama/excitement!! (delete as applicable)

Happy New Year to you all too.Perhaps BL they don't celebrate the new year in Mauritius? Dunno just a guess.

I went out for a meal and dancing with a dance club I belong to but tbh, would rather have been at home in front of the tv and a mug of tea! Don't get me wrong I lUUUUUrve dancing but there is someone at the club who's recently started ignoring me and I have no idea why as hardly said boo to him! Hope he never needs lodgings cos I wouldn't have him here!

nhslady is still over the pond visiting her daughter so my house is quiet as can be right now!

once again wishing you all a healthy, happy and prosperous new year.:hello:

    Blaidhna Mhath Ur!

Hope you all had a good time over New Year? Good to hear about the party in the BL house! I hope that 2009 is a good year when it comes to lodgers ;)

I went to a ceilidh that was being broadcast live on BBC Alba (new Scots Gaelic TV Channel) - it was an excellent night and a real hoot. Last night went to visit friends and got back home at 3 am.

Today is DH's birthday, so it's been a nice quiet day and I'm looking forward to a long lie tomorrow morning.

    Enjoy the weekend!
  • Unfortunately I was working but luckily it wasn't too busy a night and I didn't have to dodge any vomit either - bonus!

Glad you had a good night BL. I'm like you, would have been completely out of it by about 1am!!!

Well, this year is going well so far, I must say!

MauritiusLodger has only gone and got himself a job - starts on Monday doing private language tuition for some (presumably fairly well-off) children in the City  The jealousy from some of the locals here... :o

And I've been called back to meet the HR department of the full-time job I applied for so many weeks ago - seems I was their choice from the interviews, so they want to put me through some verbal / maths type tests. I'm not worried

The chickens have been well-behaved, keeping to within their own garden for a change, and the cat's ribs have healed nicely.

Here's to 2009, the year of good fortune!

Thought I was doing quite well at keeping up with this thread but what was wrong with the cats ribs?
