So will Joanne leave or do what you've been doing?

Her plan at the moment is to leave :( Even if she does get a base in the UK, it would need to be in a different location.

Well PotentialLodger2 is fantastic!!! :j He's been here for the last hour and a half just nattering :rotfl:

He's very chatty and friendly and we have sooooo much in common - he's into the same festivals as me, we have experience of doing the same jobs (and have the same views about them) and he's saving up to travel round Europe on a motorbike. He also doesn't have any family nearby and is looking to have some company / make friends.

He also likes to play the same online games as NakedChefLodger, so there's no reason for them to not get along well.

His tenancy is coming to an end next month so he'll be looking to move in around the same time as I move out. He's already sorting through his stuff ready to pack and move.

I told him to let me know what he thinks and that I would also keep him updated on the situation here.

He's also into classic vehicles and has an old car he's working on in a lockup.

  • Isn't there the 3rd little room that the foreign lodger had for the interim - or has that got all big guns stuff in? I've just been re-reading some of the more recent stuff and this is a bit mean, but can I ask - when big guns said his jewellry - does he wear like those sovereign rings - I'm just got a mental picture in my head ....

The little bedroom is the one that I'm moving into (and is also full of BigGuns' stuff)... so my room (the biggest 'cos it's actually two rooms knocked together) is up for grabs. I had planned to offer it to JoannaLodger in return for being 'in charge' but if she goes I'm not sure what to do...

Most of the jewellery I saw looked like girls' necklaces :rotfl:

An original Mini - his third. A nice complement to my VW bus :p:p

I don't want to rain on your parade while you're so obviously feeling quite positive right now but it really doesn't matter whether you get along with him or share the same interests or not. You won't be living there with him.

The prospect of JoannaLodger/Ulrike leaving and you having folks living in your house who you don't know well while you're thousands of miles away for extended periods is making me feel rather uneasy.

But then, I've always been a glass-half-empty sorta gal. Or very, very cautious

Sorry, I did jump a bit! She's finally in the recruitment process for becoming an air hostess (her dream job). She's well qualified, relevantly experienced and immaculately turned-out, and of course I've got my fingers crossed for her to get the job because it would make her happy. But it would mean no more perfect lodger :(
