At this point in time, I don't think Slack Badger lady needs any direct communication with the vague lodger and should just get to the bottom of whether the lodger has received any LHA without passing it on by speaking with the council and demanding payment directly.

After all, most savvy claimants who submit sufficient info can get LHA in their mitts within 2 weeks and most local authorities are bound to process the majority of claims well under 2 months to prevent claimants from being evicted through arrears.

I've looked up the local housing benefit phone numbers and they're both constantly engaged... will keep trying...

If she hasn't been there for a few days, has she had the money and done a bunk - tenants often leave a few items to put you off the idea they have left!!

I think she's still there... there's quite a lot of stuff still in the corridor outside her room (I obviously haven't looked inside), but we're still Facebook friends and that would just be weird!

I got through to a third number on the council website and they're going to call me back

    NEWS

I got my call back from the housing benefit chappy and here's what he said:
QuackersLodger has been in receipt of housing benefit continuously since 11th May

He also gave me an address to send my evidence that she's more than 8 weeks in arrears, which will be a request to have direct payments.

So what has she been having trouble with, then?!?
