  • Has anyone used this method when also on prescription meds for spots? I'm taking the Yasmin pill, which didn't do alot, so Dr put me on Tetralysal tablets (antibiotics) for a couple of months and prescribed an antibiotic gel (Differin)... one month through, and don't think they're doing alot, so wondered if I should give OCM a go and give my skin a triple-whammy!... I'm 24, never had spots as a teenager but have for the past few years and I've had enough!

Nope our sainsburys doesn't have a pharmacy. My friend says she will try the chemist near her as she 99% sure its an independant one.

Just been using jojoba oil the last couple of nights, no new spots and my skin is so soft. Not done it long enough to see any improvement in my pores and/or skin tone.

The OCM wouldnt really be for acne, its more for congestion so dont expect miracles

If you have acne and are getting treatment for it then really do your research into the OCM yourself ( not just this thread) and decide if its for you. When I was looking into using it I did find some posts where people said it made their acne worse or in some case bought about them developing acne.

eek - ok, thanks for the advice and I'll definitely read some more about it before raiding the kitchen cupboards!

it's the castor oil that does the cleaning or lifting out of pores apparently.

it's outrageous that you can't buy it from a shop.

now you're going to have to decide your mix. this depends on your skin type. and have you got a muslin cloth or thinnish flannel to take oil off with. you can just rinse jojoba off but it's better using a cloth because that exfoliates. your skin will feel like satin with no hideous chemicals to clean it :D

My skin dries out very quickly so I might just start with 10-15% of castor oil and 85-90% of jojoba oil. Currently using a thick flannel but I'm going to buy some muslin clothes next time I'm in town. Checked Boots online and the cheapest they have is £6.49, is there anywhere cheaper?

Yes its outragious, I was asking the girl in Holland & Barrett if she knew anywhere that would possibly stop it. She asked what I wanted it for and didn't believe me when I said as a cleanser and to use in soap making!!
  • i'm pretty sure if you get a boots voucher you can buy muslin cloths with it. no7 aisle.
i used eve lom for years so have got loads. i could cry about the money i wasted on that.

castor oil was used in the bible. even then they knew it was beneficial :D
