thanks discodee
yes to be honest we do all remove shoes when we come into the house but I am not overly concernec about germs as do believe a lot can be good for the system but damp beds with disgusting bedding and very dirty places are not so good for my 2yr old who has sever asthma causing her to be hospitalised at least 6 times a year and we end up on A+E at least once a month with her attacks. So I can not justify staying in such accomodation or them playing a soft play area that looked like it had not been cleaned in months. I can not justify letting my 18mth old wander around aplayground and then go to pick up a used condom, I cant tolerate my 4yr old being taught how to be turned into a ypb..if thats mean then hell yes I am mean..but do you know..my kids have been happy today because the spending money we had went on a trampoline..I didnt spend it on rubbish for dh and I or anything else..and yes I felt cr%p at having to bring them home but no I would not have stayed any longer than I had to and it was a great relief to go home.HUGE THANKS TO MAXIMOUSE THE HAMSTER ANGEL..GOOD KARMA IS COMING TO YOU!
Managed to get Pipsqueak ,Chunk ,Num nums,a house, car, skateboard, slide, wheel, handmade carriers and beds x2, orange go go carrier and a ball:j:j0 -
nemo you must have been really unlucky
my chalet was nothing like you describe, i have read horrible reviews so i went prepared with wipes etc. but really my chalet was clean, it sparkled including the floors. the carpet was nasty and stained but it had been hoovered.
they weren't at full occupancy, i am surprised they couldn't give you a better chalet
our group had 6 chalets and nobody had any dirt. nobody had dirty sheets.
i agree with discodee about the language though, there were some pretty foul specimens onsite but my kids don't understand scouse accents so they managed to ignore it.
the soft play area is nice because kids have to be signed in and the staff are vigilant, so the foul mouthed kids don't get in there because their parents won't shift their backsides to sign their kids in and stay with them.
i liked the way the chalets were arranged around squares of grass for the children to play on - it's a good way to make friends. i wasn't so keen when my 2 year old was trying to get to sleep with footballs banging against his window but at least none of the kids in our area were horrible.'bad mothers club' member 13

nemo i know what you mean about damp - i've been very ill in some haven caravans, and we have to ask to be moved if there is mould because it puts me in hospital. but our pontins chalet wasn't damp. our door didn't fit though, you could see the huge gaps around the edges - perhaps if rain got inside a chalet it would make it damp, and the heating wasn't too great i suppose.'bad mothers club' member 13

discodee we took lots of pics of the swans too, they were so lovely. and i didn't know they had such enormous feet! we have swans and cygnets in our local park but they're in a river. opposite pontins though they came up onto rocks so we got to see their feet and they were massive. my 2 year old told me he's never seen swan's feet before
oh, and he had a donkey ride on southport beach and the donkey did a wee. he's had a very educational holiday :rotfl:'bad mothers club' member 13

I am asthamtic and I have found dusty places worse than damp. I always wipe everything down with a damp cloth or I end up with severe sinusitis!
our chalet was certainly not damp or dirty, apart from the floor.I agree with CP. you must have been unlucky, but the camp was only half full when we were there so plenty of alternatives.
I have been in some disgusting haven caravans too, and I saw the pontins cleaners one morning and they were scrubbing chairs!!! haven only ever skip round with the vacuum and clean the sink and loo with the same cloth!!! I kid you not!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
lmao. We saw rabbits on the crazy golf course a few times. The kids tried in vain to stroke one lmao
Those ducks were so tame, weren't they? They came right up and took bread out of our hands.
Mine love nature and animals as no doubt do yours. Mine oo and ahh at spiders and ladybirds! :rotfl:I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
I went on 21st June to Southport. I had read the reviews and was prepared.
The chalet was basic but clean the bedding was spotless. We took dd's friend they had the bedroom. dh and myself slept on the sofa bed. That was unbearably uncomfortable. The chalet was better than I had expected.
We only used pontins as a base. The weather was dreadful. Poured down all Saturday and gale force wind Sunday. On Saturday we took the girls to Splashworld which is just down the road in Southport. They loved it. In the evening we all went to Pizza Hut.
We came back and had a quick look at the amusment arcade. It was okay.
We got back to the Chalet quite early about 8.30pm Went to bed around 10. This is when the fun and games began.
All the drunks and chavs were heading out screaming and shouting and swearing. This went on and off all night, until about 3.30am when in absolute bouncing rain one of the young men decided to strip naked and run about in the rain screaming at the top of his voice egged on by his mates, who then decided to join him. All the nakedness on the grass square in front of chalet. Just so glad dd was in the bedroom.
Sunday back to splashworld and away from chav land. lol.
All in all the kids really had a lovely time. So would I go back again. Yes for free.0 -
I think you just decided you didnt like it and thats that! If it was that bad you could have asked to be moved. I can just picture you sitting there with a face on you lol, Harsh I know but some people are so pathetic!
Carmina, I did look out for you but to be honest I didnt really know who I was looking for, although on the last night as I was leaving the fun factory I was dancing across the dancefloor to the door (one too many glasses of shandy lol) and a lady came up to me and asked if she could dance with me, she said she was with a large group but noone else danced, I did wander if she was with you??
We tended to sit by the little shop that sold the light up things most nights, there was 16 of us men women and loads of kids, but the kids were absolutely brilliant, so well behaved all weekend, little treasures!
We all had a brilliant time and are so looking forward to going back soon. We always go for New Year, although I must admit we tend to go to Prestatyn, its a bit cleaner than Southport and not as far for us to travel, I feel that you get the same at each site so dont see the point in traveling further away.0 -
oooo I forgot to add, on the Sunday night at approximately 1.30am I could hear a Scottish man shouting really violently at another man at the end of my row, my OH had left earlier on that day as he was working next day and my sister was in the chalet next door on her own with her kids, so I phoned security using thenumber on the key and they were there before I even put the phone down! Calmly sorted it out but stuck around for an hour or so to make sure things didnt flare up again!
Just wanted to make sure I got that across because I thought Pontins Security were on the ball! "hats off"0
