Tilly, my Dad is a scouser and I am from over the water
Do you know what REALLY riles me (And I am going to get shot for this now, but seeing as we're being honest!)
Bad grammar and people who can't speak properly, and blasphemy annoys me far more than swearing. Swearing shows a limited vocab. Blasphemy shows a total disrespect for our Lord.
Your post:
Jesus slag the scousers off
You are ok to slag Jesus off though? Taking His name in vain?
kids couldnt understand there accents when they was swearing
That should be their accents when they were swearing
ppl on beach coulkdnt string sentence together with out the F*** word
COme on when you going to say you was Robbed !!!!
that should be you were robbed
Sadly I assiciate scousers with not being able to speak properly. Just look at Wayne Rooney Steve Gerrard and Robbie Fowler for example!! Shining examples of where there's muck there's brass!
Sadly that irks me far more than swearing too! It is sad that a very high proportion (and not all, my Dad has just had a book published and I know many very clever and articulate people) of Merseysiders struggle to use correct English.
I don't mind if people typecast us as scallies. I know I am not and that I can speak, write and behave properly and have far more brain cells than many people from so called "posh" parts.
I think the point being made was, the camp is old and scruffy and many people use it to go on a boozy weekend. That said, that happens everywhere.
I know scousers are portrayed as cheating liars but the Irish are portrayed as thick. if you know you're not like that, don't worry about it!
Have to say i was there 20th to 23rd weekend too and I missed the naked man!!! (How miffed am I?) lol
I didn't hear any noise, but my friend who went the week after did.
We had a lovely quiet walk along the beach on the Friday night, soaking up the sun. No trouble there.
PS, Anyone wanna buy a set of wheel trims?:rotfl:

btw re the condom it IS rather different for a mate chuck one at you than to find one. What if the person who used it had aids and a child picked it up????
We were playing crazy golf one day and 2 staff beetled along with a rubbish bag and gloves on and me being nosy watched as they picked up a sanitary towel. (Who the heck chucks one of THEM on a crazy golf course????)
They had picked it up before we'd noticed it and it hadn't been there the evening before as we played crazy golf at tea time, so they were on to that quickly enough.
They can't have people checking every centimetre every second or holidays would cost thousands!
We enjoyed the break. We have a skiinh hol each yr and a foreign city break too, but we make the most of each holiday for what it is.
Chill and enjoy. When I was a kid my parents never got free holidaysI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -

I went to Pontins at the weekend - Southport too!
Loved the town. It was much less tacky than other seaside resorts (the likes of Rhyl and Blackpool) and had some lovely shops etc. The beach was nice and clean too.
The chalet we were in was fine. The bedding was perfectly clean and usable. The whole apartment was perfectly clean and I was happy for the kids to be in there. (Our youngest is crawling and he was able to crawl about without me being overly worried.)
I was happy with the amenities on site. We spent plenty of money there as we had so much stuff to take anyway (travel cot, kid's stuff etc) we couldn't fit in lots of food too! The prices were okay on site. They seemed cheaper than Butlins, anyway. There isn't a great deal of choice in terms of food on-site, but that wasn't unexpected really and easily avoided if you do want to take your own food.
Personally, we saw it as a free weekend break and were happy to spend the money eating out and frittering it away on the arcade games.I can sit inside and cook any night of the week!
(I thought the arcades were fine and most things were working.)
I have to say that I didn't do very well from an MSE point of view! I didn't even spot the voucher for a free game of air-hockey!
Some of the people there were a little roughbut no problems with bad language or litter and our five year old enjoyed himself. :T
There was a tesco five minutes drive away. You could have nipped there and stocked up for the weekend.
And given in coupons too
Also another one in Southport itself
We didn't spend a penny while there!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -

He just has a different outlook on life.
he went to The Bluecoat Grammar School and was a Goodison season ticket holder. he only moved here when he and Mum married. His Mum is still living in West Derby
PS Shall we go halves on the trims?:cool:I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
Anyone of to Hemsby this weekend? Me and my 9 year old son are off there tomorrow.
ie swimming pool , go-carts , climbing tower , crazy golf etc all free
The beach was about 3 minutes walk away and next to it was the local amusements , cafes etc.
All in all we found it very good , the chalets were ok for a weekend (dont want to criticise the state of them as it was free after all) and spent about 60 pence on the electric as somebody had left 40odd pence in it.Great Yarmouth was about 7 miles away and was worth a trip for the day.
You should have a good time with your 9 year old.:beer:The truth shall set you free.....................0 -
We got back from Pontins Southport today and it was great!!
We had to come back early (pregnancy related) but if we hadnt have had to come back today i dont think i would have wanted to have left as early as friday either...it was great!!! We`ve been to prestatyn and brixham pontins in the past and i said after both of those that i would never ever go back to them again...they were horrible....Southport was very nice!
The apartment was what we expected, basic but clean...no odd smells either unlike when we went to Brixham.
The beach was literally just outside the site, i am having trouble walking at the moment but even i manged the short waddle and it was spotless with a couple of places to get a snack or cold drink if you plan to spend a few hours or the day there, there were at least 2 icecream vans, a burger van and a man selling balls and buckets etc. There was also some clean toilets right by the entrance to the beach.
We took a few things with us to eat but to be honest i ended up dragging most of it back home. We didnt use the on site restaurant (we would rather go out exploring) but the on site shop wasnt expensive at all...it was a Nisa which are usually well stocked and not overly priced anyway. A bottle of milk was 89p and 8 cans of carling was £4.99.......i took bread etc but the stock did stock it as well as pretty much anything else you might need or want!
The entertainment was good, luke (2) had a wonderful time and so did we. The drinks werent cheap but i wouldnt say it was more than you would expect to pay and dont forget you get loads of vouchers when you check in too with loads for in the bar ie 4 pint pitcher for £7.99. Luke took his character cup from last year so i didnt have to buy another one, we just got it refilled and i was on the soft drinks too...i took a liking to the slush puppies (yum) £2.99 for the plastic cup full the first time and then £1.69 to refill it...not as cheap as the 69p to refill lukes cup but sooo worth it!! The shop in the bar with the flashing lights etc also wasnt too bad...just look at the prices before you choose...harder with the older kids but there was loads there to choose from. The balloons were a big hit with luke £1.99 for the character balloons and you get a voucher for BOGOF too so less than £1 each!!!
errrmmm, what else. Pool!! nice and clean again (everything was) a couple of small slides and inflatables (at some times) lots of lifegaurds around and everyone had a great time, plenty of seating around the side and sun lounger type chairs for you to relax whilst the kids (and husband) splash away.
Like someone else has said there was also go-karts, a climbing wall and park...loads of activities too but we were out alot so didnt use those.
The main southport town centre was a short drive away (i believe there was a good bus service too). loads to do it town with a good choice of shops, arcades, funfair and great places to eat!! We saw all of our favourite eateries but opted for Lloyds bar / wetherspoons more than once....i couldnt resist the mixed grill and its great on a budget too!!
Overall we had a wonderful time and it was all down to a lady on here who very very kindly gave us her holiday and sent the details to us by special delivery so that we would get them in time.......checking in wasnt a problem, we werent asked for id or anything like that. I gave the receptionist the paperwork and she gave me the keys, nothing to sign or anything....very very easy!!!
Anyone that still has one of these holidays to take, have a great time!!! If there is ANYTHING you arent happy about just tell them and im sure they will do anything they can to help but personally i had no reason to complain about anything at all!!
The other thing i wanted to meantion and nearly forgot was the beer in the bar, at other pontins sites it was very smelly and had an odd taste so we stuck to bottles but that wasnt the case at southport, or so hubby tells me, sooo if you would rather have a pint than a bottle i think you are safe to go for it!!

We've been to loads & loads of holiday parks, and regularly use Pontins, which we normally love, but we went to the Southport one 2 years ago and I agree it was AWFUL. We too had filthy chalet, missing loads of equipment, loud, rude neighbours who shouted & swore all the time and several families with hordes of kids running wild outside at all hours of day & night, kicking footballs against ours & kids windows when they were trying to sleep. People were using disposable BBQ's on the grass everywhere, burning holes in it. I'm not a snob, but do have to say that this site seemed to attract the congregation of the worst people from everywhere in the country - not just one particular area!
We did complain and asked to be moved, but as we had FIL with us who had limited mobility we needed a ground floor apt and were told there wasn't another one.
We asked for clean sheets, as the ones we were given looked like they hadn't been washed, and the replacements arrived full of holes!
Half the activities advertised for the kids weren't running, and those that were were really too busy as they crammed in more kids than they should have.
The restaurant kept running out of food, and the bar ran out of both cider & lager on the Sat evening.
I could probably go on but just don't want to remember any more.
As I said, we go to loads of sites and have never come across one this bad. We will NEVER return to this one even if it was free.
In our opinion, Pontins Brixham is the best one - we've been there several times and never had any problems.
Never got a free holiday though - how did youi all manage that???The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

yeah , the beer was a bit off , very flat.
Maybe they bought it just before sell-by date , like Wetherspoons used to ?
Good deal on the bottles though , stuck to those after my 4 pint pitcherThe truth shall set you free.....................0 -
lots of people said the pontins had been bought by another company and had been 'done up' with more spending planned for next year.
maybe it's like haven, with a mix revolting caravans and decent ones
i did get annoyed with kids kicking footballs at the window while my 2 year old was getting to sleep but if i went outside and asked nicely that they play somewhere else for half an hour the children were all polite, and kept away from my window.
did anyone else go to the model village? it was really sweetthe 'horror film' photos of a giant bee, an invasion of huge birds and a godzilla-like toddler rampaging around the village look quite good :rotfl:
we took the lakeside railway from the park and ride, so parking was a pound a day. i think you're supposed to ride into town, but we just crossed over for the funfair etc. where you can catch a land train and across from that was a very rundown miniature train station which we all loved. the train was painted blue to look like thomas, and at the end of our journey back the driver let the kids into his carriage to pretend to be engine drivers for photos :T
i only went to the club once at night, and that was for the croc show then we came home to bed. the other three 2 year olds in our group were dancing until midnight but staying awake until 9 was too much for my boy bless him.
i want to go again next year (or sooner if there's a freebie lol! but next year i'd go through the sun holidays, or a £60 deal perhaps) but my husband isn't keen'bad mothers club' member 13
* I have done geography as well *0
