bently, pontins re haven? I'v ehad 24 haven hols over the past 13 yrs. (Going again Autumn using clubcard deals)

Now have are generally better accomodation and usually cleaner (though have had a few grotty ones lol)
But pontins have far more for the kids to do. haven were brill years ago but they've upped the prices and downed the activities over the years. Pontins beats them hands down for the kids, and their pools are open later than haven too

    Thanks for that:D
I was thinking about using my CC vouchers but i usually get the sun deals and save my cc vouchers for something else.

  • Have just tried phoning Pontins with the promotional codes PW28 and PW19, but have been told that all the free holidays have now gone.
  • I also asked Pontins if I could pay a supplement, but they said all their low cost holidays were gone too.

if you wrote down the reference number that they gave you, then that is all you need anyway. *note* next time you get a freebie pontins holiday, ask them for the reference number even if they don't tell you it. Then you have got confirmation of it over the phone incase you don't get anything through the post (as happened to me 2 years ago but i had the reference number).

P.S. I noticed that camp security has been tightened up in the last 2 years. When we went earlier in the year we commented on this and they said it was because people were sneaking extra people in and camping on floors so now they check that the number in the car matches the number booked when you arrive and everytime you leave the camp you are given tickets (the same number that are in your car) to let you back in.

Just warning people incase they had ideas about this.....

seriously you people, have you never gone anywhere that people have said has been crap?or theyve moaned about it?youve gone done the same thing and had a wonderfull time? every year this happens, people post horrible reviews and people moan about what a crap time theyve had,!!!!!! its a free holiday,an oppertunity we wouldnt have had if the kind poster haddnt of posted it,an oppertunity for our kids to do something diffrent, for every person that moans, there will be ten that have had a fabolous time, theres people here that have missed out and probably gutted they diddnt get one.
A holiday is what YOU make it not anybody else, judge on your own experince not on some strangers that you dont know from adam, always remeber someone elses trash maybe someone elses treasure, and be thankfull for a great oppertunity,if chalets are dirty then give them a quick clean,if you dont like the camp then use it as a base, and dont look a gifthorse in the mouth.

    ditto.

I was immensly sceptical when i took my first pontins break 2 years ago. I kept thinking "what's the catch?". I packed the car and went with the full intention of driving back home if there was a catch or if the place was a hell hole. I was worried as i had 2 pre-schoolers with me. It was a basic holiday but perfectly adequate, clean and comfy enough. It wasn't the ritz but I had no complaints - it's FREE for god's sake!. If i had paid £500 for the weekend then i may have grumbled and thought that I'd not got value for money. As it happens I only had the cost of my petrol and took my food from home. I spent very little while i was there, used the facilities and avoided paying the slightly inflated prices in the bar, on-site chippie & shop and restaurant. I used it as a base to explore the area and use the beach. We had a wonderful time and have gone back and PAID to stay weekends (although only the £60 weekends - not a penny more!). Go with an open mind and remember you paid nothing so you have very little to loose.
