    Hiya,

Last year we went to prestatyn via the free hols and its was great really, pretty clean and tidy. Though we only used the room as a lay by we went to the beach and rhyl and towyn, our weather was abit rubbish to be honest, but it was a FREE holiday and we wouldnt have got one without the offer. Its free go have fun, if you look for obstacles then your gonna find them!!!

I too had read the reviews (i am a clean freak) and panicked but was quite surprised, i took a bottle of kitchen cleaner bathroom stuff and i was happy enough. Unfortunately we never got chance this year i would have happily gone back again

OMG I DONT WANNA GO NOW
I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO IT AFTER MY HYSTERECTOMY BUT NOW I DONT THINK I WILL BOTHER

im going to southport on the 2nd of june and i wentlast year as well.
we didnt get the free holiday we have paid £60 to go the same as last year and we love it.
these reviews are always left by those that had a bad time. if i paid full brochure price to go yes i might be upset and id rater go to haven but for free or £60 its really isnt that bad.
an honest review from us is that yes the rooms need alittle bit of updating and the carpets arent spotless but they certainly arent dirty. the kitchen area is clean and so is the bathroom. take proper cups for brews as they only provide those one mouth full ones.
the pub food on this camp was a bit rubbish last year but it isnt far to get to town and eat out. thats what we will do this year. entertainment is quite good and the staff are lovely. the beach is 2 minutes down the road on foot ao nice to get out.
we are taking a 2year old and he always loves it. and on top of you free holiday the even give you pontins money to spend there. this is usually money of but it all helps and you can have a great time.
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

I have just booked up Camber Sands 4th July. I have been before about 3 years ago and the basic was fine for a weekend. it was in need of updating. we were short on plates and some other bits and we were really pleased how quickly they sorted it all out.

I do think of it as a cheap break(free in fact) and as long as its clean I just use it as a place to sleep.

  • those reviews make depressing reading, especially this bit

"it doesn't really help that certain people who stay in this Pontins are all from nearby and seem to live an complete opposite way of life as we may do."

i don't mind dirty - i can clean. i don't mind rubbish food - i can cook, i don't mind expensive drinks - we don't drink much and don't go on holiday to get drunk, we have kids to look after - but are the people really so terrible?

has anyone been on a weekend to southport? we're cheap and cheerful people and we live on a council estate but these tales of drunken sex on the lawns and swearing make me shudder.

we can just use it as a base but i want to be able to take my children to the park or swimming without having to put up with type of people the reviews describe - and if there are people having loud parties at 3am i want security to shut them up, not just tell me tough!
