well considering we have 4 vehicles its quite easy to forget if they sent reminders like they do about tax discs it would be alot easier. I would know if there was something wrong with my brakes and i check my oil once a month and i always check my tyre pressure when i go to the petrol station so yes i am responsible enough to own a vehicle its easy done to forget about a mot.0

... and a car is a lot more dangerous than a child.
Maybe you would not be expecting others to remind you of your obligations towards running a car if you had lost a loved one, as a result of someone who forgot about their obligations because they have four cars? :rolleyes:Gone ... or have I?0 -
If i thought any of the vehicles we have was unroadworthy we wouldnt be driving them we check the brakes and tyres ect all the time. Im just saying that if the dvla sent reminders for mot's then it would be alot easier

Unfortunately there's a lot more to safety on a car which is beyond the ability of probably 99% of car owners to check in entirety, which is why an MOT is important. But simple checks are a good thing as many people do not do such checks or care.0 -
Top tip: Try this:-
Restrict your husband to sex once per year on the anniversity of your MOT.
I guarentee it will never get forgotten in future. :beer:0 -
When you do re-new, make sure you allow at least 7 days, as the insurers only have to update the datebase every 7 days or so. My dad got stopped on Monday evening and he had renewed last week.
So, if I insure my car then get in it a few days later and drive passed some ANPR equipped cop car I can expect to be pulled over?0 -
maybe not expect to be pulled over but from what the previous poster was saying its a possibility. To be honest though whats the chances of driving by one on a normal day, last time i got my car taxed and mot'd after being sorn for 3 months and drove 300miles without getting pulled up![FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it
