  • Been a fan of ordering my lenses off the internet for the last few years. Everytime I ordered some it was a real hassle trying to get a contact lens prescription out of any opticians.

Pleasantly surprised to find out that Asda are now more than happy to book me in for a contact lens consultation and give me a prescription for my lenses. Costs £10 for the consultation, for which a check-up in 6-months time is included.

I indicated that I was going to buy the lenses from Asda online so am not sure if this had any influence. I'm happy enough to buy from Asda online though as they're now the same price as my usual internet supplier.

I usually buy boxes of 30 Focus Dailies, but a box of 90 is so much cheaper.

    A box of 30 is $17.95 and a box of 90 is $35.95. Shipping is $19.95.

There are even better deals than this.

Why not try https://www.daysoft.co.uk they are £6.99 for a box of 32 and £19.49 for a box of 96 with free shipping.

Are you by any chance linked to this company?
3 posts all singing the praises of this one contact lens company....
Erm, probability says you are linked.

I'm a contact lens virgin so please be gentle with me :o:o

Phoned up the ASDA store with an opticians to arrange eyetests + contact lens fitting.

I was told by the assistant that it would be £10 for eye-test and £10 for lens fitting. Any future aftercare was covered by this fee if I bought lenses from them. This included purchases via the website.

I only intend wearing them occassionally so I think I'll just go for daily disposables.

  • I used to always use Asda's own brand All In One Solution for hard/RGP lenses but now find it really difficult to find in my local Asda shops so I am currently using Tesco's own brand Step 1/Step 2 solution for all contact lenses but the only trouble is the nearest Tesco to us is quite a distance away (I only bought it while shopping there once).

Can anyone recommend a good online place where I can buy my solutions and have it delivered (ree if possible).

    Thanks.
  • Hi,

I have used these once...and never ever again!!!!!

customer service is absolutely appauling, it took me 5 weeks to receive my order and 2 weeks to receive a reply to my multiple e-mails.

I strongly suggest using another vendor!

I'm not connected with Daysoft at all, but thought that I would point out that I have just ordered a 3 month supply of daily disposables (96 pairs) from them for £27.96 inc P&P.

They have an offer on until 14th Feb that if you buy 3 months you only pay for 2.

I've used them before, and although the packaging isn't the best, they are comfy to wear and very reasonable priced.

  • I've just been looking into online contact lenses, and found they would be a third of the cost of what I'm paying at Boots Opticians. However, I would have to pay for solutions and aftercare on top of this. Solutions aren't very expensive, but can anyone give me an idea of what I could expect to pay for an aftercare appointment?

I'm very unimpressed with Boots after they failed to send me out my lenses last month. I just went in to see what had happened and they said I'm due an aftercare appt, and they can't give me the lenses until I've had the appt. But they hadn't contacted me at all to let me know this (I didn't even know I was due the appt, never mind that I wouldn't get my lenses because of it). Of course, they were quite happy to carry on taking my direct debit! I've been wearing a really old pair of lenses thinking, "The new ones must be on their way soon - maybe I've got the dates confused and I haven't had this pair that long." Grrrrr. So I'm feeling very motivated to switch!

    Marga.
