    Hi fellow money savers,

I found this great offer on contact lenses last week, daily disposables for 180 for £40! I waited until I received them and they were all correct and not dodgy - but they arrived this morning and are great - so I thought I'd share: http://www.eyebuddy.co.uk/product-contact-lenses/323/SofLens-daily-disposable-180
    Thanks for reading!

i get quite a good deal just from my local optician. if i buy in bulk they give me a better discount. Last time though i got caught out buy buying too many and then my prescription changed but they took them back and swapped them for the new prescription ( unopened ones). I don't think you can beat one to one service in this respect from buying locally, the customer servcie you get is generally better and that outways deasl on the internet in my opinion

My DS has just started using contacts and I pay £19.50 a month for a mid/high range lens. They deliver 3 months at a time, and I use vision express. This includes all her solution as well.

i have worn extended wear lenses for a few years. these are soft lenses that you can leave in for 30 days and nights so that you wake up being able to see.

they are fine in the winter but in the heat i have trouble with the lenses drying out and then becoming irritable, sometimes a lense will only last a few days before it becomes unusable.

so i am thinking of spending more and using daily disposables. it will also be easier to get hold of them i hope.

would i be right in thinking i should have no problems switching, and can i buy some on the high street to start with to test them before ordering more online?

i have a fairly recent prescription which is 8.4 and 13.8 and -2.00 in both eyes. i assume these are the same numbers for both types of lenses.

can anyone recommend a daily disposable brand to start with??

I use daily disposables, pay £10 a month delivered (both eyes). I use this website: http://www.daysoftcontactlenses.com/

I used Acuvue 1- day moist but they were too expensive and now get the equivalent from this company called daysoft 58. They are perfect and have been using them for over a year now. Can only recommend it.

You need to go to an opticians and get some lenses to try and let them assess whether you're suitable for dailies or not.
You can't just buy what you like and hope they're ok.
I know you want to save money but you really should go get an assessment for dailies, they are free in several opticians.

My optician did just that and now I use a variety of lens for different reasons.

Day to day I use a daily disposable lens
For brief extended wear (does that make sense?) I'm using Clarity lens which are really comfortable. Used them for work trips, longest so far is 3 days
For longer extended wear I use Air Optix Night and Day - travelled to Australia in them, with stay overs.

Trial and error and good fitting are the keys to looking after your eyes when dealing with contacts.

Yes, I tried them as well and worn the Acuvue for 3 months prior ordering from the other website. I love my dailies, they are really comfy.
