i buy my contact lenses from Day Soft Contact Lenses.
they are daily disposable lenses which you buy in bulk but is cheaper than specsavers own brand. the lenses are sent immediatly to you (and i find them to be more comfortable than specsaves!) my only connection with this company is as a satisfied customer.
P.S. there is a very small postage fee
i hope this helps0 -
I can recommend daysoft, their customer care is excellent and lenses arrive very quickly0

2 days into my trial of daysoft and to be honest i dont really notice any difference
But they were £19.99 for 2 months worth delivered!! (64 days worth)If at first you dont succeed.............skydiving is not for you !0 -
The 58% is generally more comfortable for drier eyes apparently because the higher water content lenses can absorb water from the eye more easily.0

I'd stick with Specsavers. I'm on their direct debit contact lens scheme - get monthly lenses, solution and case - they come in a pack straight through your letterbox every three months and are only £10 a month. Also as I am a direct debit customer, I get free lens check ups and half price discount on designer glasses, I think it is half price on other glasses too.Thank you to all posters - very appreciated!0

I've had laser treatment on my eyes and I now have 7 spare contact lenses. It seems a shame to throw them - is it worth selling them on ebay - not sure if these are the things people would want to buy0

contact lenses are not allowed to be sold on ebay for obvious reasons. You could take them back to the optician you bought them from. but to be perfectly honest they would just bin them i think anyway.
as you need a specific prescription for contacts it would very dangerous for anyone else to try them.0 -
Pardon me for not reading all the thread...
I am really annoyed and need advice. I went to Tescos opticians in May where they did an eye test for me and a contact Lens fitting, I then went back a month later and they checked my lenses as a free follow up and then sold me 6 months worth of lenses....I then went back last week and they said "it says here the optician recommended you to have a follow up 3 months after your last lens test so you now have to see your opticians again before we can sell you lenses. They did not tell me that if I came back in that time I would not have a free follow up but would have to pay for a c.lens test again. I certainly do not remember being told this or I would have made sure I returned for this.
I tried to then buy lenses online and the online opticians said they contacted Tesco opticians and they said that Tescos claim to not find any record of a c. lens prescription for me. I dont know whats going on, but I am wondering why did they only give me a prescription valid for 3 months? My c. lens prescription has not changed in 8 years.
Is only 3 months legal? I thought a year is fair? Is Tesco just trying to get more money out of me as I will have to pay for another c lens check? ( It will work out more than I paid for my lenses in total over 6 months!)
advice please.0 -
Tesco should have given you a copy of your contact lens prescription, if you you are entitled to one. Once you have this you can buy your lenses online. I bought mine online from Asda it only checks that you have had your eyes tested within 12 months. I am sure your contact lens prescription itself does not specify when it is valid until. When I bought my lenses from Asda online I bought 6 months supply and they sent me a voucher for a free contact lens review. Once I had the review I started to buy the lenses from the Asda opticians because it works out about the same price and I feel its good to support the shop, as they are very good. One thing though - I would check with Tesco as to why they said you needed another review so soon - was there a cause for concern which made them think you needed to go back sooner? If not then I certainly recomend Asda0

I would second Asda opticians - they are fab - off for my check up this morning and they have been more than helpful (even suggesting cheaper lenses for me - which are more comfortable than the expensive ones Vision Express were pushing me to have)0
