For those with good hand-eye coordination and a bit of patience, replacement batteries are available for considerably less than £50 (Maplin, 3rd gen ipod battery - £14.99) and dismantling/fitting details are readily available from many sources for free online.

Er, am I too assume that after clicking to buy the item (ipod), when i am redirected to the apple homepage that means there arent any in stock. Clicking the basket reveals nothing is there....

wouldnt it be easier if the site just informed you there were none in stock???

they were out of stock, and now they are changing it... but still no stock at the moment... strange...

Just call them if you're really after one. Maybe you'll get a better response that way. It's an 0800 IIRC.

if possible, could u ask them whether they tend to be 2nd hand stock, or just clearance stock that are brand new??
