Should there be a national petrol strike?
Most people will agree petrol prices are rising weekly and are getting very expensive now, (petrol at my local station has risen 2p in one week!!)
So why doesnt anyone do anything about it? we complain but nothing has been done, so this is why i believe we should have a national petrol strike
how do we go about striking...........its got to stop somewhere

We are a nation of people who dont give a damn what the government do to us. We are too lazy to strike.0

Nobody really cares about the cost of petrol. Everyone complains, but no-one seems to be willing to drive less/walk/use a bike/move closer to their job or whatever to actually spend less on petrol.
The Oil companies are watching their profits rise daily, so they are hardly likely to reduce prices unilaterally.
Face it, it's going to keep going up...0 -
why does nobody care ! we do care because everyone complains about the price, cmon lets do something about it :rolleyes:0

Just how would you suggest petrol prices are reduced?
less tax maybe, ok what tax will you increase to fund the gap, or would you shut a few schools, hospitals, old folks homes etc instead?
Cut oil company profits, fine, but of course those profits are also paid out in 50% corporation tax [see above re tax], and dividends go towards your pension plans. So cheaper petrol but lower pension when you retire?
How would you control the price of oil on the international market? Go on stike and not buy it maybe?
Or how about invading Iraq, oh, sorry we already have
PS I got even instead of mad, bought Shell & BP shares, so I must declare interest hereGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -

its right to say this, but we still have not seen improvements in schools hospitals and old folks homes. They get all this money on tax and not much is done with it
still a strike is the right way! just to stop rising prices anyway......0 -
it worked a few years ago, why wouldnt it work now , the prices were lowered too :cool:0
