This week is "National Walk to Work Week". http://www.walkingworks.org.uk/
The boycotting a particular company for a week might work0 -
The truckers should just do what they done in 2000 and roadblock the refinerys.0

Total are in the process of selling their Lyndsey Refinery, hardly a vote of confidence for refining in the UK.
Wonder what the price will be if one of the UK refineries goes down....:eek:0 -
I can't petrol strike because at the moment I am only filling up 3x a year.0

In my town there are 3 petrol stations, I think BP is one, but that's for outsiders... locals know the supermarket sells petrol cheaper so we all go there.stevie_stevie wrote: »I know a boycott on buying fuel won't work but how about just not buying fuel from one oil company, say BP. for example. If we all stop buying from them they will have to drop their prices to get the business back. Then the others will have to follow suit to compete. This is not a new idea but has not been tried as far as I know.
You can't pick a company can you? Surely everybody has access to different ones.0 -
BP have announced profits for the first 3 months of this year.... £3.6 billion  a rise of 135%.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0

I've seen a corner shop owner driving a 59 reg Bentley.whatmichaelsays wrote: »The profit margins on fuel are tiny. There's little room for discounting. That's even before you consider that most petrol stations in the UK are franchises, not operated by whoever has their name above the door but by a bloke who probably makes little more than the bloke running the local corner shop.0 -
