Should there be a national petrol strike?

That fantasist and BNP reject (he thumped a senior party official) who keeps trying to organise the protests managed to get about 18 people to turn out countrywide last time, a few months agoJust suppose we agreed a national day of action when no cars or lorries - except emergency services - would move. All those vehicle/miles - quite a loss to the oil companies, and a supergreen protest - and a couple of weeks later, we do it again. And again. And again!
I'd sue you for my costs arising from your obstruction, as would plenty of businesses0 -
i take it your one of those people that sue people at every opportunity you get.......we are trying to do the strike in a civilised and grown up way that would not effect everyone so please no threats of suing, theres no need for it0

Just how would you suggest petrol prices are reduced?
less tax maybe, ok what tax will you increase to fund the gap, or would you shut a few schools, hospitals, old folks homes etc instead?
Ah, nice to hear that old chestnut again!
It's a very romantic notion that all our taxes are pumped into schools, hospitals and old folks homes, but sadly very wide of the mark.
Have a look at this book. The price of petrol could be cut in half if the government didn't squander and misspend £101 billion of our money every year on utter nonsense.
So there's your answer.0 -

I have not read this book, have you?
We can all point to some scheme that we consider a waste of money, but others may consider that scheme the best ever and just what was needed
Easy to say stop paying the workshy, or council pen pushers etc, and no doubt some "jobs" are pointless IMO
My point was no Government of any colour has cut "waste" or taxes without some penalty for others in the longer term
The Tory tax cuts of the 1970s were funded by North Sea oil instead of investing it as the Norwegians did.Gardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
Yes, it would be so easy to cut out £101bn of waste and use the money saved on popular measures that would win it the next election by a wide margin.
Hmm. Wonder why they've never done it then.........0 -
If you want to organise a strike then write to everyone - I believe there are a couple of CDs in circulation with lots of contact details for much of the UK population on them - asking them to sign up. Then agree a date or dates and away you go.
When you do write to me can you make sure you enclose a stamped addressed or pre-paid envelope for me to return my response?
Many thanks0 -
who said for one day, that would obviously not get the message across, the last petrol strike had farmers and lorry drivers blocking access to refilling stations ect.
any farmers or lorry drivers reading this?
Yeah. Basically as far as haulage is concerned, STUFF YOU, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN.
The reason for this is because of the backlash the public had for us for the second protest because they bought the lies the Govt trotted out about ambulances running out in the 2000 protests.
And where were you lot the other week when we had one in London? Oh yeah...just driving on past.0 -
thanks for the stuff you remark , dont live in london, and i wasnt aware there was a demnostration either.
returning to the lorries/ buses does anyone know that it costs nearly £500 pound to fill up one bus with diesel and the buses with a twin tank nearly £900
imagine paying that everyday!
I never listen to the government, they brainwash everyone to eat ,drink and live the way they think is right , no one has a choice anymore0 -
Have they also brainwashed you into forgetting how to use capital letters or proper punctuation? My eyes! The goggles do nothing!0
