MFW, What small thing have you done/ will you do today?

My small step for today is coming on here! You've stopped me heading out to the shops for something I fancy for lunch. I'm working from home today so will rustle up an omelette and salad. I've no excuse for not having a NSD and NPD.0

Dh reduced the hot water timer by 4 hours a day. Yet to see whether the water is actually ever going to heat up!
Made 4 out of 5 lunches for the family to take to work/school. DS3 has hot lunch at nursery.
Someone is leaving work today so helped myself to a cream cake and several clementines. Also, got a packet of crisps for someone's packed lunch tomorrow.0 -
My new policy for saving money is to keep away from the supermarket. I seem to be incapable of setting foot in a supermarket without spending at least £15. However if I don't got to the supermarket I almost always manage to manage without the stuff and keep the £15 in my pocket. My BF thinks this is mad but it seems to work. Now if only I could keep out of the coffee bar as well. Things would be fabby.MFi3 member 105 - MFW date Oct 2023 - 12 years 9 months more0

Went to town after work and paid cash for the few things I needed. Then went back into work this afternoon for a meeting (work mornings) for which I'll get paid overtime. For tea we are eating up what we have in. We have to watch every penny this month (sept 23 - oct 23) but the good news is the mortgage will finally be under £40,000:jMFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

Quite a lot achieved this weekend I feel. I have continued with our decluttering - taking another sack and a laundry basket full of clothes to the hospice shop yesterday. I still have some bits kept back to pass on to family and friends too. There will also be a full sack of rubbish to go out for the bin men tomorrow - amazing where it all comes from isn't it!
Have done quite well with meals too - We were going to have fish & chips on Friday night but as I stopped at the farm shop on the way home I bought a lovely pie there instead and just called at the chippy for the chips. Yesterday OH was out at rugby for much of the day - I had a tuna salad for lunch with salad stuff and tuna that I already had in the cupboard, then we then did a home-made indian for dinner last night - curry from the freezer, home made bread etc. Today we had the rest of the pie with potatoes and sweetcorn (from the farm shop - cheaper than Tesco & nicer too!) for lunch and will have home-made calzone for tea - the dough is just finishing in the BM as I type!
I have listed a load of bits on eBay this afternoon so fingers crossed those will sell. Have cleaned the car by hand here rather than going to the jetwash, and as we haven't gone anywhere it was a NPD & a NSD so yay us! OH has made a start on the decorating by getting the pollyfilla out and filling all the annoying little holes.
I called in at Sainsbury's yesterday to pick up the items I commonly buy in tesco value in their basics range - I will do the same with Asda next time I am in there. Idea is to see if anything is better quality from one or the other. I've given the Basics tea-bags a go as well - will see what I think of them long term but as a one off when I tried a cup yesterday they seem OK.
Pricey day tomorrow - we're off down to Poole for the speedway Play off semi-final. What with admittance, programme, not to mention the diesel for going down there, it's going to be a steep one! We only make the playoffs every now and again though so it wasn't something I was prepared to miss!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Had a good day yesterday:
- made HM soup
- cooked cheap gammon hock (in with soup), enough for 3 meals
- meal planned rest of week
- made lovely HM tomato sauce
- froze 3 meals (reduced price nice meatballs, with HM sauce)
- started to make list of freezer contents
- did a mystery shop & input results
- went to supermarket & only bought what I went in for
- brownie points, freecycled loads of stuff
Not quite so good today, bought a packet of McCoys crisps, 61p, but brownie points, freecycled loads more stuff :A
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Having a good day so far:
- wrapped up an eBay parcel
- cooked windfall apples for tea tonight
- put £3 in mortgage pig as wasn't charged for children's swim yesterday
BTW is anyone else trying to pay off the mortgage without OH realising? I save money in the pig and put half to holidays and half to paying off the mortgage

I'm going to fill in my Standing Order form to pay the difference between my new mortgage repayment and my old one.
Now I've paid a chunk off they've reduced the monthly payment and wont let me keep it the same so I'm getting round it like this.0
