In fairness to Tiscali I should now report that after writing to the CEO I was called by someone who then realised that my account was set up wrongly on their site and I have now had my package changed from 17.99 for 512kb to 14.99 for 1mb.
In my view it always pays to go to the top.0 -
So they didnt offer you the £9.99 package? What do you think of them now? Theyre overcharging you less!!!illegitimi non carborundum0

Well, i wanted to cancel Tiscali after discovering how much I had been overpaying. However I was offered the following package - £12.99 for as long as i want to stay with them with a 1mb connection speed, no download limits, and no extension to the contract.
Can that be beaten ?
I have agreed to stay with them - I was annoyed with Tiscali but not enough to turn down that kind of a deal.Badgers badgers badgers .......0 -
And i also went through the process of being told that my account was "set-up wrong when you moved house" - sounds like a good get out of jail card for them, doesnt it ?Badgers badgers badgers .......0

I've just sacked Tiscali, after being with them for about 23 months.
This week,my speeds were as low as 200kbps,which,when you consider I'm on a 2mb package,is appalling, even by their standard.
What is also funny,is that they now deny me access to the broadband forum once I've logged in,but if I'm not logged in,it's there and I can read it.
I've just signed up with F2S,which is a couple of quid a month more, but I don't mind providing they give me the service, and the best bit is,it's a monthly contract,so if they get slack, they get the boot as well.
I signed up with them because they have had some good write up's,are reasonably priced, their CS seems to be good, (although a little restricted on the times they are open,) you appear to speak to someone in ENGLAND,not India, are now owned by Pipex, who have also had good reviews in the past, and if your migrating, there's no charge.
See for yourself.
Ken.
