Tiscali Broadband - Existing Customers

    I've just rang Tiscali and my monthly charge for exactly the same 512K unlimited broadband has reduced from £15.99 to £9.99. They didn't volunteer the new price you have to ask!

    There is no new contract or contract extension.

    When you say tiscali customer do you mean tiscali broadband customer? as I have been a customer for yonks but only broadband for about 10 months. When I tried to find £9.99 they only offered £14.99

    PS If you have connection problems, they usually sent you out a new modem, even if you have your own ADSL Wireless Router, and its generally a problem with their own network......Ebay the modem and youll get about a tenner for it!!!

    I ment Tiscali customer once you've completed the 12 months contract of (i guess) any Tiscali Internet service. (I think)
    (you can upgrade/downgrade after that without making a new contract for another 12 months)

    give it a go - if it works you'd be saving more than the price of the phone call.
    If it doesn't they'll probably tell you that you need to complete the 12 month contract first.- After that you can def do it. (if its availble) ;)

    Another tip - when you ring up, press 1 for the disconnections department.....my feeling is that is a special for people threatening to leave.

  • its a case of check out latest prices on website and call them to change - they never tell you, thats if you get through to them on the phone.
  • They don't have the 9.99 on the website that I can see

    I phoned Tiscali on Monday to cancel, and was offered the same £9.99 per month deal, the guy I spoke to said as I had been with Tiscali for over 12 months I can now have this lower priced package which is identical to my current package but its on a network with a better contention ratio, it would take up to 48hours to action.

    I asked him to confirm what he had told me in an email he said he would and to expect an email in 20 minutes. 56 hours later and I'm still waiting for this email, I have also noticed that my account still shows that I am paying £15.99 per month.

    I have sent an email to Tiscali this morning concerning this and so far no reply.

    A word of advice to all those that have been promised the lower priced subs please check that Tiscali have actually actioned what they promised.

    If you want to check visit the tiscali website, click the members link then my account, click "Change your existing broadband package" then login, it will then tell you your current package and price.

    This is what you should receive
    Dear Customer

    Congratulations. You have upgraded your Tiscali Broadband Package.

    If you have upgraded from broadband to a telephone and broadband bundle
    you will shortly receive a smart talk welcome pack in the post,
    containing all the information you need about your new telephone
    service.

    Any change to your line speed will take place automatically within
    96hrs.

    Nope not received a thing? Some poor Indian guy at Tiscali's Call Centre is gonna get an unhappy customer on the phone tommorow, ME!

    Tiscali seem to be a nightmare when it comes to customer service I know of many people that have phoned them in the past, and what they have requested has fallen on deaf ears.

    Only Monday a friend had to phone Tiscali again after moving to a new property to get them to transfer her broadband to the new property, she first phoned them 6 weeks ago to request it, on Monday when she phoned to find out what was happening, they had no record of her original request. So she's now got to wait another 20 days until her broadband is transferred.

    Honestly I sometimes think tiscali employ un-trained chimpanzee's to run their customer care. No sorry un-trained chimps would probably do a better job.

    RANT OVER!!!! I feel so much better for that!

    P.S. Does anyone know of a geographical number for Tiscali Cancellations, ive tried 0207 0872000 which is the number on saynoto0870.com but this number just gives a recorded message telling you to re-dial the 0870 or 0845 number.
