    Since my last post

I emailed Tiscali and asked why my discount had not been applied, I got an automated response saying I would receive a response within 24 hours, I waited 48 hours but did not recieve a response.

Therefore, I called Tiscali again and spoke to someone who told me to wait for my next bill and check to see if it had been implemented.

Well suprise, suprise I got my bill 2 days ago and they are still charging me £15.99, what can I do to get Tiscali to actually listen to me and sort this out?

 ** IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A INTERNET PROVIDER AND HAVE ANY SENSE PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP WITH TISCALI, THEY PROVIDE A GOOD INTERNET SERVICE BUT UTTER CR*P CUSTOMER SERVICE. **

You should try emailed their complaints@ email address......that has an automated response telling you how seriously they take complaints, but they never reply to them!!!

Have a look at your online bill......for me I just received a £15.99 charge to my credit card, but looking online, theyd applied the £9.99 rate from the date they had said they would which gets billed next month.......first time theyve ever got anything right.

    I'm currently paying 17.99 a month for 512kb.

When my emailed request to 'upgrade' to the £14.99 1mb package got no reply I wrote to the CEO by name so you would think I might then have received a decent reply....wrong!

I got a standard letter from a minion telling me to visit the My Account area on the website. This is totally useless as it doesn't allow me to make the change I am asking for.

I am now waiting for a reply to the my most recent letter but my impression is they couldn't care less anyway.

If you visit ISP REVIEW they have a complaints page, where you can register your complaint, they say that if you want they can try to fastrack your complaint to a senior member of staff at Tiscali, please see the link below:

    http://www.ispreview.co.uk/new/complain/complain.shtml

A news article published by ISP Review states that Tiscali have the worst record for complaints that they have ever recieved, most ISP's have one or two complaints with them but Tiscali have 238 at present and the situation is getting worse, apparentely its been gradually getting worse over the past 3 years. Another reason to avoid Tiscali.

I always change mine online. I don't know why it doesn't allow you.
Mind you I have to agree they are crap and I will be changing when my year is up

Jane - why not phone them and ask for the £9.99 package....or do you want a 1Mb?

Emails just go offshore, to people who think its funny to respond to emails using names like Michael Owwen and David Beckham. Their only purpose is to answer phones and chat to you about how little authority they have to do anything, and ask you have you tried retyping your password....and have you checked the filter recently.....and are you using a DECT phone.

I'm another who has only just spotted this thread, i was paying £17.99 for the 512kb package! I have just updated my package online so I should be paying the same money for the 2mb package plus free weekend calls. I couldn't be bothered to phone and talk to anyone so thought I may as well pay the same but get more for my money!!

A big thanks to the OP who posted this!! :)

A big thumbs down to Tiscali for treating its customers so bad!! :(

The problem is that I only want the Broadband but not the Smart Talk telephone offer. I realised when I originally joined that the weekend calls are free but the weekday calls are not.

I can't find a way of changing the package online without Smart Talk but if anyone out there can tell me how that would be great.

I am planning to subscribe to Tiscali Broadband (Bundle Package) and they have offered me £19.99 for 1meg Umlimited Usage and Unlimited Downloads. Thats in addition to the Unlimited UK calls. Is it worth subscribing for Tiscali. Please let me know about their broadband service.

    Thanks in advance

Its fine when it works, but if it doesnt its as much use as a chocolate teapot.....I had six months of hassle before they fixed mine, and my mate is going through similar problems.....his ADSL light wont sync and Tiscali wont take responsibility for ownership of the problem......"its BTs fault" etc is all you get but your contract is with Tiscali who should properly manage all their subcontractors.

The only upside is that the idiots in the offshore Call Centre think all problems can be resolved with a new modem, so they send you new Speedtouch modems which you can then Ebay at around £10 each.
