Have to agree that the ZDnet test is a bit rubbish, ZDnet test gave results of 1309Kbps and ADSLguide gave 1950Kbps which is correct for 2Mb cable. The Zdnet test seems to be less in-depth with only a 500kb download to base the results on which is why its so quick. I ran both tests several times, ADSLguide was always within a few 'k' whereas Zdnet was hundreds different each time.He huihuinga taangata he pukenga whakaaro – A meeting of people; a wellspring of ideas (Maori proverb)0 -

Is it ok, and on-topic, to ask what brownout is?0 -
T4i wrote:I'd recommend two cups and a long cross-atlantic piece of string. Or put your hand in your pocket and get BB, if you cant get it due to location........i think the word is TOUGH!
It's not the cost that was worrying me T4i as I'm paying for two ISP's at the moment. I was just reading and wondering which was the best.
Now I'll go back and read the posts again.
Btw, BB's just become available so no need for the cups and string.
Thanks for taking the time to reply though.0 -

Condition where the received power is lower than normal values. This occurrence can cause damage to the computer or cause components not to work or function properly.
Is that alright :j0 -

Great thanks, especially as we're prone to a lot of power cuts

In plain english. A blackout is total power loss. A brownout is where the power drops (i.e. if your electricity dropped from 240 volts to 100 volts)How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I've only just managed to get the boy to understand how important it is to unplug the broadband when there's a storm in the area. So much better than risking the network and all the computers. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
