How can I check my broadband speed?

To all members:

Isn't it better to all present our fact based opinions to give other members a choice, rather than demeaning other posters who you dont agree with.

MSE is about choice and community. There are often several answers to a question; by presenting our own views we give others more than one possible answer. Comments like "Some of them don't have a clue what they are on about" is neither helpful, nor likely to keep a thread civil.

Let's return to the topic in hand and be nice to other moneysavers.

People were mislead by your posts on my first thread... thanks for ruining it. Well, I certainly have't upset the many that have thanked me and PM'd me. I do know what I'm taking about thank you very much... and yet again you set a bad example to a newbie MS by veering away from the original thread. I haven't accused anyone of anything... but I would not recommend a networking job for Internet purposes without a modem/router. WiFi or not.

I'm lost for words with this post. From what I've seen of your posts so far. You have a very good knack of upsetting a lot of people. Your thread on wireless networking was voted not useful by EVERYONE that voted. This would indicate that quite a few people feel that you don't know what you are talking about. For you to accuse others of this I find unbelievable! I'm getting the impression that you are only here to troll.

Just to add my tuppenceworth, I've always used numion.com where you can select worldwide or UK only sites to speed test against. It also remembers your previous readings and draws a graph to show whether your speed has gone up or down.

PS. Please note, I do not have a speed problem or any other class A drug

Sounds a little similar the software that comes with my Speedtouch modem. Gave me a good result too.
