The manufacturers make alot more money than I do! lol
Using Coupons has been a godsend to me and Its not something I want to see abused.
I would not complain about TESCOS pulling a fast one. I would be more annoyed at the lack of knowledge that certain S/A and managers display as we are after all playing by the rules set out in customer and staff guidelines. I am sure we all agree that while thankfully TESCOS does accept coupons, maybe they should not, but while they do they help the little people who are finding it hard to live due to poor income.
Maybe they do it purely for profit and to keep customers. Well I dont care why they do it. I am just thankful they do.Current Debt : FEB 2010 - £10,000, OCT 2010 - £5,000 :jCompetitions Won : ->:rotfl: HAHA Don't be silly Been Comping for 2 years! Still no wins!:rotfl:0 -

i totally agree with you but i do not agree with with people patronizing jobsworth cashiers if they are ignorant of the coupon policy. Me personally i smile and keep them for next time. or the other option is to cash your vouchers at cs. rather then keep the people waiting behind you while you insist on them calling the duty supervisor etc... its not a right but a bonus.0 -
Hey hellofreebies are you the one that always tuts behind me when I get me coupons out? Err as someone once said... "The couponer is always right!" :rotfl:
no not at all...but i think some of you guys think your printing and handling over legal tender and get grouchy when some ' sour face trout' dont want to accept them.....
its a great buzz when you get x amount off your shopping but some of you get withdrawl symptons when you cant get away with it every time!!0 -
I've "raised my profile" in my local tescos, and now most of the SAs have admitted to me that they now save all their coupons and use them on their shopping too! All because of me.
I'm know as the coupon lady, the one with the email. What really infuriates me is the fact that people photocopy the coupons and try to fob them off as proper ones. THis is the main problem that people like Tescos are facing at the moment. True couponers used valid, in date, legit ones, not photocopied fake ones.
I'm sorry if people disagree with me, but if I'm challenged by an SA I'm always polite show them my email from head office, and I have always been allowed to use all of my coupons (only been doing it since beginning of July).
It's our right to use our proper coupons and Mr T charges the manufacturers for the privilege of us using the coupons, so really we're helping Mr T earn each little penny, and as their advert says, every little helps.

you see i dont feel its a right...common sense tells me if its our right to use coupons then why dont tesco just put a big banner up outside their stores...hey everyone why pay with money when you can pay with printed coupons whether you buy the product or not... c'mon fact is if coupon spending is common knowlege to every joe bloggs then there would be no more coupon spending.0

i do it if tesco lets me, but its their RIGHT not to let me! like everyone else i apprieciate it when they do but i budget my money to be able to afford my shopping whether the coupons get accepted or not.0

I always have enough money to cover my shopping whether I have coupons or not. Wouldn't dream of taking less and having the rest in coupons as it would be sod's law that's the day I get rejected.

Thanks for the information everyone!
Tesco SA refused my coupons today, said I must buy the product. He did not check with the supervisor even when I said their policy do take MOC. Both marie claire and Mitchum deododarant coupons were cut off from the newspaper. all in date etc.
I managed to use MOC from the same store before. Has the policy changed before Auguest?0 -
Boots Self-service!
As a newie here, may I thank everyone for their MOC posts.
I was in boots today and they now have self service tills, used a marie-claire & huggies coupon, went through no problems, so got £4.20 off a £8.80 spend, brilliant!!!
Please tell me this was a typo and you mean Tesco (not Boots)?
We only use coupons without buying the product in Supermarkets which allow this as a specific policy. That is ONLY Tesco, Asda and Waitrose. Anywhere else would be fraud as there's a level of deception in any other store that isn't there in Tesco/Asda/Waitrose.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
