why are supermarkets so funny about coupons they get the money back from the manufacturer really annoys me when they try to pull a fast one on their customers
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

I would love to be able to say sorry i got it wrong, but what i have said is correct.

I did go to my local Tesco with my email in my hand and i was told by customer services who then asked managment what their policy is and i was told only 5 coupons if you hadn't brought the item. I have to say that a good 99% of the cashiers know this too.

When i emailed Tesco's for the first few emails i got a basic email back basically they hadn't read all my email just the first line. But parts of it kept saying at the discretion of the Store Manager.

I think it's great if people go into their store and use 15 coupons and they all go through but I just wanted people to be aware that not all stores have the same rules due to the Manager discretion.

I agree with this totally. It doesn't matter how many e-mails you might show or phone calls you might make, if a store has its own policy.

LP have had this policy since the year dot. Its been a little more "open" at times but its now set in stone - 5 mocs if not buying the items, and has been for a good while. The problems is, some sa's are scared to take more than 5 even if you have mocs for items you have bought. I quote cs when this is queried as I have checked and confirmed again recently.

If there are the odd sa's who take more than 5, then they are likely to get told off as this has been clamped down on hard recently due to coupon abuse, so knowing this is the policy it would be very unfair to cause problems for some poor unwitting lad on the checkout, who is just trying to to earn money to support himself through college/uni.

shopped in Asda today, and as an SA was on I have used 3 times before with coupons I really went for it and gave her 12 (usually give max of about 6 to keep low profile as am quite new to this) she scanned them all no probs but till required a supervisor
I asked her why she said I had exceeded the coupon limit  .
Supervisor came put key in without querying it :j .
Has anyone else eperienced this and what is the limit before till asks for a supervisor somewhere between 6 and 12 but where?

Hi the coupon limit before a supervisor is called is 8 maximum.

If you hand 9 over, a supervisor will be called as it is programmed into the till
Hope that helps the Asda shoppers :)

  • Has anyone had problems using the Mitchum deododarant coupon? Haven't scanned at a couple of Mr T stores. Will try another branch, if not, it was good whole it lasted!!!
I wish people wouldn't argue or draw attention to themselves, with SA's or duty managers etc, there will come a day when Mr T & the rest will just stop ALL coupons except the ones specific to their store ie, Tesco magazine MOC:eek: I just take unscanned MOC back & try another day.

Went in to Tesco's yesterday at a different time than is my usual, big mistake! When I handed over my coupons to the SA she said "I'll just have to get these checked". Over comes the till supervisor (yes Coupon-mad she was a sour faced old trout who obviously is not getting any).

    Tills supervisor; "these are copies"
    Madmuupet; "no they aint"
Tills supervisor; "we don't stock that magazine"
    Madmuupet; "yep you do"
Tills supervisor; "you have to have bought the product"
    Madmuppet; "no you don't"
Tills supervisor; "you're only allowed 10% off your shopping with all coupons anyway"
    Madmuupet; "that's incorrect"
Tills supervisor; "well we don't accept these"
    Madmuupet; "you did yesterday"
Tills supervisor; "well maybe they were unaware of our coupon policy"
Madmuupet "no they weren't, but you are"
    quote]

:rotfl: Well said madmuppet! I am (as you probably know by now) an obstinate moo who doesn't take no for an answer either, good for you for politely but firmly disagreeing with her. The policy is clear so why do so many of them not know it or pretend not to know it?

I don't suppose you'll be phoning Dundee every time you want to use an internet print though will you, lol!

eh...no...theyre not pulling a fast one on their customers, actually they are pulling a fast one on the manufacturers....i get really fed up of people complaining about how hard done by they are when if any of you ever bothered to read the terms and condition of each voucher they will notice that it states you must purchased the item stated...the supermarket are doing you a favour...not the other way round.
