tesco new policy will take coupons to the value of 20% on total shop as long as they stock the item.

Hope so, 20% sounds fair enough but unfortunately I suspect it will still vary from store to store, sa to sa, mood of staff, day of the week etc. My local was all you like then went to 10% max but this week the sa took all I had and asked for more!! but then she was probably new, lovely girl though. Asda staff are a lot more cheerful and obliging, my local A is as many as you like but it is a round trip of 25 miles to my nearest decent one so not normally worth it...

  • Would it be a good idea to have separate thread for chat about coupon acceptance - this was originally a thread for people to list printable coupons, but has now become more of a chat thread, and you have to wade through an awful lot of (very repetitive) chat now.

Don't know what anybody else thinks?

And please don't anybody take offence, but is it REALLY necessary to have questions like 'what's Tesco customer service email address' and 'what's tesco's phone number?', when you can google either of these and the information comes up at the top of the search. Sorry, not trying to get at anybody, but having to wade through two or three pages of this every morning to check if there's any new coupons is getting a bit time-consuming.

This isn't the policy at my local store. I went in yesterday and spent £31 and got a total of £15 off using various MOCs and the voucher from NOW.

I agree because often I click on here thinking there's a new coupon but it's just general chit chat about coupons.

Tesco already have a generic response - it is posted throughout the thread - this is all you are going to get from them. And we also have the policy document on the first page. Copy these and carry them with them.

I am worried the more we hassle tesco the stricter the policy will become and we will all miss out.

I know it sucks when you get vouchers turned down - I've been there! It hurts! But it is the MANAGERS DISCRETION and that is it. Taking an arguement with them or trying to overrule them telling them how to do their job is never going to work. I now know what stores I can and cant use and it is a question of trial and error.

I don't want to clash with anyone on this but I think we need to try and cause as little coupon fuss as possible!:A

I see your point, but the problem is printing the policy from the first page isn't really helpful when you take it to the shop because they can say you made it up. (I had an email from another store and I was accused by the supervisor of this, as it was not on headed paper... doh, when is an email on headed paper.)

I agree with you when you state we should cause as little coupon fuss as possible, and when MOCs have been refused, I just accept it. But other people may not see it that way and think why should others have the 'fun' of using MOC and not them.

    It's a difficult one.

I've never tried using coupons at Tesco cos the policy it emailed me was a bit vague, so I didn't bother. It would be helpful if Tesco had one policy for all stores.

In general, what's more worrying to me is when people's total bill comes to say £50 and they use £48 worth of coupons. If I were a shop assistant I could get peed off and might refuse to accept them in future if I knew it was at the store's discretion.

Also do the cash office check the coupons and if they see a shop assistant accepting so many, would the SA get a rollicking and not take so many in future.

I know some people have complained on here that they only got say 10% or 20% off, but at the end of the day, that's better than the stores stopping their policy of accepting MOCs altogether.
