Tueday morning I used the coupons everything ok - the one that does not scan but SA will key it in. Tuesday afternoon, bought few things as usual using the same coupons that you & I have been using, I was told by SA that they can no longer accept any coupons that doesn't scan. I said thats ok.
Left my groceries in the car. when back again this time to purchase mobile phone. Thought I try my luck with a younger SA - low & behold she just key in all the coupons (ie: marie claire, activia, ryvita, costello, etc) only Mitchum £1.00 scanned with no probs.
Today - when to my usual SA - was told that she can no longer key in manually for coupons reason being Tesco unable to claim back fm the manufacturer. I asked her when did this starts she said this week.
Well, all I can say is, it was good while it last!!! I knew sooner or later Tesco will stop taking unscanned coupons.0 -
If you are pregnant or have a child still in nappies you can register with Pampers and they send you regular coupons out by post .Each letter has a few coupons in them for either £1 or £2 and they carry on sending them until your child reaches an age when it should be out of nappies .Wish I could stop editing EVERY post I make :mad:0

I had probs today with the Marie Claire voucher, as it was an internet coupon.... but you accepted it on Sunday as the store has done for the last 2 mths......oh I'll have to call a supervisior......he comes (hasten to add I that I have had a run in with b4, 1 over vouchers, the 2nd over a business matter that I was officially in store for and I was right....) he took one look at me and said, oh no problem, we accept vouchers, just scan them or put the numbers in.
Hence 1 happy shopper xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Been to my usual Tesco at Norton (Stockton Extra), bill came to about £9.38. Handed over a Ryvita, Michem (£1.50), and Marie Claire coupons. I've always had the MC refused before, but always try again!
The lad typed in the Ryvita (does it scan for anyone?), then starred at the Mitchem one. The usual dreaded preesing the button for assistance happened, and the checkout supervisor came over. I was ready to quote the policy to them, again, when the lad asked her if they sold the Mitchem, because he hadn't seen that coupon before.
She said they do, so he happily scanned it, and the MC one!
I paid my now bill of £4.99, and as he gave me my change said (you may need to sit down for this!):
'We take any coupons as long as we sell the product, I just hadn't seen that one before so had to check'
So it seems they might have actually briefed the staff on the policy at last! I'll see how things go next time.
On a slightly different note, at this store the SS tills always had a little paper flap over the coupon slot saying coupons had to be checked by staff before insertion. These little flaps had all been removed today. I don't want to get too excited, but this could be progress in favour of the brave couponerier!
