Yep - the last couple of weeks at Walsall tesco Metro I have had no problems using a handful of coupons.

Today was told that if you are not buying the product you can only use 1 coupon (whether this is of any kind or internet I'm not sure). I had a couple of team leaders or the checkout manager over and told them that wasn't HO policy, but they simply said that is the policy they have been told.

I therefore made them give me back the coupon they had scanned in and change it for the £1.50 one instead :rotfl:

Ho hum, off to try a different Tesco I think
Back to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak

    That's the spirit, geranium72! :T

Metro stores are not the best for coupon acceptance anyway IMHO, have you got an Extra or a different, larger store within driving distance? Even if they don't take internet coupons (which seems to be more common these days and is at the SM's discretion) then they may at least scan one of each of everything else you have.

I have just called three East Midlands Tesco stores.

Long Eaton - Will not accept internet coupons full stop. All other coupons are ok as long as they stock the product and you dont need to purchase it. One of each type per transaction.

Loughborough - Will only accept one of each type per transaction and you HAVE to buy the product.

Nottingham - Helpful lady read me the latest policy from the book. Will accept one of each internet coupons as long as you buy the product. Will accept one of each other types inc Asda etc coupons as long as they stock the product. No need to buy.

Confusin hey!! Anyone else have experience of these three stores? Wondering if this is gospel or depends on what s/a you get? Guess we need to suck it and see!!

First post so hi to all!

Long Eaton depends which SA and supervisors you get.

Although Tesco have a national coupon policy, it can still be overuled by the Manager of each store and they can implement their own rules regarding coupon usage. I have had mixed results at the Long Eaton store.

Welcome to the forum Dudette13. Don't know about any of the stores you mentioned but my local Tesco has been fantastic recently, accepting one of each coupon without purchase of the item. Went into another Tesco today and had a right old time trying to get my coupons accepted. After talking to one of the CS staff she told me from now on they will only take coupons that scan. So much of the policy seems to vary from branch to branch. I'm just glad when a store takes my coupons and appreciate that it is at the store manager's discretion. Just enjoy every penny saved as long as it lasts!

Hi Princess Coupon. Not well up on all the technical stuff and know this may be a silly question but how do you clear cookies browsing history, etc? I use my work laptop for this stuff at the moment since DD is on home laptop all the time which has Vista premium on which I just cannot get on with. Because I use work laptop for this stuff I am reluctant to download anything which may even remotely threaten the security of the laptop. Is couponnet a totally secure site? Thanks in advance.

I've been making daily trips to both tiny Tescos in my area, spending under £3 per shop and self-scanning the Marie Claire coupon. It beeps & says needs assistance then the SA overrides from the till behind the counter. They never query the coupon tho - I keep waiting for an unsuccessful trip but works every time.
In Big Tesco I've developed a network of teenage boy SAs - my daughter calls them TBs - who will take any coupons at all!
    I love coupons!

    HI all

Please find below the policy that my local supervisor in Tescos gave to me last week after it was reissued to all stores (or so she said) She'd been keeping an eye out for me coming in and gave me a copy to keep with the email I take in should I have any problems using coupons.

    Hope this helps.
