  • C'mon! I've posted here to moan and rant - we all have the right.
Internet forums are an outlet for a lot of people. No need to get personal and silly.

IMHO, OP wanted to vent (fully aware that there would be folks who disagreed - cue verbal abuse along the lines of...... etc).

What I feel is wrong is to assume without justification that such and such is the reason for the post. Read the first post again, it just called for comment, nothing more.

No need for filleting, garrotting or flaying.

True, you post about an incendiary topic like house prices and people lay into you - expected.

But, c'mon restraint and sticking to the point......
Tough times never last longer than tough people.

OP called for comment and they got it! as for sticking to the point, OP was bemoaning the fact they had not made any money despite not losing any money either, then later comparing their "plight" to be being a car crash victim. No dount next time the price of food rises in the local supermarket they will think they are worse off than a famine victim, or next time it rains a little they will think life is worse than those poor people in burma now.

Absolutely no risk of foreclosure - what with the OP living in the UK where it doesn't exist!

A similar people divided by a common language:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Will repossession do?

A mortgage is in theory repayable on demand - that is what keeps AD & GB awake at night and why my taxes have been lent to NR?

    Repossession will do nicely.

A mortgage is not the same as an overdraft, and contractually will not be repayable on demand.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Sorry but that is a load of 'tosh'.

We have no idea of the t&cs, hence for all we know the mortgage could be repayable on demand.

Best to assume nothing and stick to facts.

Up,down makes no difference to me.Hang on,yes it does.Down for me because it`s going to make that little bungalow by the sea a much reduced price gap.

I suppose everyone has a different agenda.Folk struggling to get on the property ladder will clearly want a huge crash. Those who have mew`ed will like it to stay where it is at least or at best go up to avoid negative equity. That would apply to the recent first time buyers.

The boring plonkers (yep I know a few) will deffo want more house price inflation so they can gab on about how much their house is worth as though they have done something clever!

OP, if you were looking for empathy then I think you'll struggle as most people will find it hard to empathise with someone with an attitude like yours.

You and others might claim to have a different economic outlook, yet the truth is you bully and harass people posting on this forum.

The " I told you so" brigade posting on here seems incapable of empathy or compassion for other fellow humans who post on here looking for advice, compassion and encouragement. Instead, you give them disdain and superfluous advice on how they should have run their lives and finances, of course always remembering to mention how smart you are and look in what a good position you are now that the whole economy is crashing.

I pity those of you who need to see people displaced, homes sold at auctions and children on the streets in order to fulfill your abysmal sense of righteousness and maintain your selfish sense of self fulfillment by comparison. As a firefighter, my first duty is compassion towards fellow human beings - imagine if we started giving superfluous advice to injured people trapped in their cars: that they should have slowed down when going around the corner, that they should have paid more attention etc. Yes they should have, but then we are all humans and thus subject to imperfections. Rejoicing in others' misfortunes and laughing at their tears, whatever the cause, in my opinion make you bitter and twisted. If you can't show empathy and kindness and give advice that can truly help, at least have the decency to keep your sick laughter within the privacy of your homes.

    Wow - just wow!

Please someone rewind 9 months back when Phil Spencer was telling everyone on TV house prices will at least 10% up by end of this year, so those with different economic outlooks can be treated like loonies again back in the land of perpetual HPI.

Different economic outlook - does not mean no compassion.

Not sure I agree with you on this.
If Northern Wreck went into liquidation, I think the liquidator would be asking EVERY BORROWER to repay their mortgage, cheap deal or no.

Those with good credit ratings and small LTV would be a bit inconvenienced.

Are you suggesting that those with savings accounts at NR should sit on their hands for years to see if the sub prime borrowers ever managed to pay back? All those widows and orphans and trustees?

HAHAHAHA, Hose A and Hose B. Compassion? do it for bloody free then or get down from your pulpit.

It's a public forum and people can express whatever they like.

Hopefully the council will put up a lot of ASBO housing in your back garden and the price will drop a bit more.
