Hi peeps, I'm late posting because I've just got back from the hosp, took my knitting but went straight in. The Consultant said the nerves in my arms had deterioreted so much that it's not possible to try Cortisone injections so I will have to have the opps on both arms. That's because I have been on the waiting list for so long. All I can do is wear splints 24/7 and wait for the letter to say come on down. It could be weeks or months before the opps so will have to put holls on hold.
Plan to blitz the upstairs as DH is doing some diy up there so will need to vacume and polish. Friends dropped off loads of spinach and huge leeks whilst I was out, mmmm what to make?
Smokey it's normal for you to feel the way you do, you've been through hell and back. There are no hard and fast rules as to how you should be. Go easy on yourself xx
JackieO enjoy your G&T you deserve loads (might even join yah later)

I have been unable to tear myself away from the "copyright" thread for over an hour this morning.
When I last looked it said "closed".
Ooh I haven't been on this thread for aaaages -how is everyone ?:)
Feeling really tired despite a 4 day week and not actually working for a living:D I love Fridays -no packed lunches to prepare for the next day, not my turn to supervise dd's bath&bedtime :j and a bottle of wine in the evening, ooh and clean sheets on the bed (must make bed).
Pacific lime chicken for tea -from Diana Henry's Simple Food. It's chicken thighs marinated in honey, soy, lime juice and garlic. Not tried it before but sounds yum and reasonably healthy;)0 -
Hi :hello:
I've been working this morning and I'm about to go and sort out my washing to take into my other work at tea-time.
It will be fish and chips for tea...our Friday treat
Hester, your description of the sticky keyboard and mouse made me shudder, I too am wondering what your WI talk was entitled. "Tales from a Landlady" :rotfl: Whilst Katy might be a pest, she certainly provides us all with a giggle.
Tru, I'm so pleased that Reggie made it through the night, let's hope that he is ok.
Redruby, I too would love a Jack Russell pup, one of the suppliers my husband deals with has one and it goes to work with him. It can be a bit snappy but it just wants to jump into Mr Twit's arms and sit there and be cuddled. I'm not too sure how our cat would take to having a pup around.
MrsMix, I hope the hospice is sorted out soon, although if dad is pain free, then that's a relief.
JackieO, enjoy the G&T
Mumzyof2, hi, good to see you here again.
Hugs to all those in need.

Afternoon all.
First up, hugs and hello's all around. Have read the thread but am not with it so can't remember...
Got back from Derry at 9.15 last night. Didn't get to bed til eleven, then up at 6 for work this morning. Absolutely shattered. Luckily my manager is ace, and let me leave at 1. We get time in lieu for any travelling time over and above what we would normally do, so had 6 hours saved up. have used three today (didn't take a lunch hour).
Now vegetating on the sofa. DH is at hospital today for his ulcers - one of his twice weekly visits so nothing serious.
Hugs again,
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Oh, Beth - you must be in a lot of pain; I can't believe you knit when your arms are so bad. It's awful that it's reached this stage because you've been waiting so long and you're expected to go on waiting indefinitely. You could try phoning the hospital every week to see if there has been a cancellation - I did this when my DS2 needed the third of three serious ops on his ear when he was going through GCSEs and I made a real nuisance of myself but it did work and they saw him a lot earlier than we had been told to expect. It may be worth a try. Good luck and I really hope you don't have to wait too long.
TRU - how are the babies?
PIPPAd - where is yours?!! I've been thinking about you during the day.
REDRUBY - you'll love being a Granny when the time does come! Actually, I'm called Nan; my grandchildren call their other grandmother Grandma. I loved it the first time the eldest one called me 'Nan' - it made me cry! I'm too soppy for my own good, sometimes.
Welcome back, MUMZY!!
Well, I eventually went shopping but not until I had to make several phone calls for DH and type some invoices out. In the end it was lunchtime by the time I'd finished so I had lunch and then went out. It's lovely and warm at the moment and the washing is bone dry on the line; that'll be fun to iron!
Anyway. I couldn't decide what to do for dinner so DH is going to do one of his spectacular omelettes and, for pudding, I shall hide some really sorry-looking bananas under some custard.
Will catch up with you all later.

Afternoon All
I have no idea what was on the keyboard & mouse, but I've bought some antibac wipes to keep in the study now.
I gave my talk about Tarot Cards.
Have a good afternoon.
Hugs Hester

Now now ivyleaf, you made me splutter me coffee, i am no where old enough to have a DGS, My dd is only 13, and hopefully years off of babies
Ivyleaf, it was me looking after my 10 month old DGD, but I don't look anywhere near old enough to be a grandma, so that's probably why you got confused :rotfl:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Hello All
Not been up long. Didn't get to bed till nearly 5am after a 24 hour shift at work. Had good feedback from what I did though - the boss even texted me to say how proud he is:eek: Never done anything like that before.
Going to Burgess Hill this evening for a night out with Mum. Having fish and chips for a treat. Didn't eat properly yesterday so think I deserve it.
Found two 5ps yesteday so they can go in the correct pot. Must check the hole in the wall again to see if paypal's put the money in there yet.
One more week then I get a whole week off:j
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Oops, so sorry! I'll have to re-read the thread to find out who it was:o
The wretched workmen have tarmac'd most of the road where they'd dug it up, but have now knocked off, presumably for the weekend, leaving all their fencing up and our parking bays still inaccessible:mad:   They did work last Saturday morning, so we're hoping they will do the same this week......We're now parked in a "business permit holders only" bay so will have to find somewhere else before 10.00 on Monday:rolleyes:0
