Morning All
Just off to get the sticky
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 9th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Woke up at 5.30 this morning so decided to get up straight away, 1 load of washing is on but now going to surf on here and enjoy the peace and quiet for a while.
OH will be up soon as he is off to hospital for his CT scan this morning, doesnt mind this one - lot less invasive than Tues appointment. He is then going straight to work after as they have a couple of jobs for him. So I will be alone all day :j :j .
Weather looks like its going to be nice today but I shall be inside in the morning getting some housework done.
Veg beds look good, looks like the potatoes are making an appearance and my marrow seeds are doing well.
Think will do chicken stuffed with cheese wrapped in bacon tonight.
Tru - loved the pictures of the babies.
Smokey - good to hear from you (((hugs))).

:hello: Good morning!
I can't sleep either Essex girl, it is a lovely morning and looks like it will be another lovely hot day. Dh has a day off work so we will be visiting friends this morning then it is back to the garden and w**k for me!
I have found out that the breeder I got our pup from has another lovely girl needing a home, am sooo tempted! Just worried about how I would cope with two on walks, holidays etc.,
Hope to start using the dehydrator today, intend to dry some apple slices with a sugar and cinnamon coating, fingers crossed.
(((hugs))) to pp, smoky, jayward, mrs mix, essexgirls dh and all who need one
Right off to find a :coffee:
Have a lovely day and Happy Birthday Martin! :bdaycake:
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Morning, dull and overcast here with the chance of several showers. We had some rain late yesterday and into the evening which was perfect for the veggies.
Work again at 1300, It's so boring being the only one left in the office after 5pm.
I should hopefully get some more jobs done about the house this morning. The next on the list is a clear out. I have a shed full of clothes for the charity shop, and other junk that needs selling or given away to the free loaders on freecycle.
I managed to find several old pallets yesterday and made them into a base and sides for a log store.
Well have a nice day everyoneNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning!
Came down to see the light on and teenager on the computer at 4am studying photographic processing for astronomy....was supposed to have gone to bed at 11pm and I left him to it, expecting that he would be finishing off soon....live and learn.....
Definitely doing potato something for tea...sausages and mash maybe.......
Have a great day everyone..must get on with studying while the going's good! For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
Morning all! Bismarck - there's a lot worse your DS could have been watching at 4am!
SMOKY - good to read your post on yesterday's thread. I'm so glad you have such a supportive GP. He sounds brilliant and will be a good friend to you. (((Hugs))) to you all.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
TRU - congratulations on the arrival of the triplets! I hope the littlie survives and does well.
(((Hugs))) to all those in need, PENPIN, MRS MIX'S Dad, BETHEEBEE - hope your arms don't let you down today.
Well, it's almost time to get the brekkie on - I'm still making porridge but I suppose that will have to stop once it gets really warm. Shame, because it's so cheap. Well, cheapish since the prices of everything seems to have gone through the roof.
Today's plan is to get my food shopping and try and keep the cost down; I have some paperwork to do and some actual w**k and I have to decide what to do for dinner. I couldn't be bothered to think about it last night and now I still can't but we'll have to eat something!
Anyway, I'd better go and get the porridge on.
See you all later.

Morning everyone
A bit early this a.m. I've have a bit of a sore throat over last fews days, no other symptoms, but it seems I am [strike]snoring[/strike] purring in my sleep, DH moaned a bit yesterday (you know the sighs Moiliere!;) ) and it seems that's why I got up as I was being constantly kicked/poked/wokenup, but seems last night he debunked:rolleyes: . He staggered back into the bedroom at 6 am and as I was awake told him to get some kip and got up. BM on so I can take some HM bread with us this weekend. DS has now decided he is home this weekend (as we are not!) so needed to leave him one too, and now make sure there is something in for him and gf (veggie who will eat fish). As they pass near where we are on Friday night calling in for a BBQ, so have to cater for another two there as well, found some salmon steaks in the freezer so that covers some of that - ds eats most things. I thought I had shopped for the weekend. Sure there are some supermarkets closeby if we run out.
Smokybabe - I saw an article in The Mail at the weekend over children grieving after losing their Dad, and thought of you and your lo's, if you are interested, I have found it online here. You are doing very well and I am so pleased your GP is good. As Stefejb said don't go back too soon.
Thanks Salopman with dementia presents have no meaning, and to find something he could relate to and enjoy gave me great pleasure.
Warm and dry forecast here over the weekend, with a day of sun tomorrow:cool: , just what we want for a caravanning weekend:j :j :j will catch up with our friends who we have only seen once this year (though spoken to many times). Weather forecast for Spain still shows rain all week though warm. Hope they get it over with before we go back:eek:
((((hugs)))) to all
Take care and have a good weekend. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning
Couldy here this morning, well it would be, we go on holiday tomorrow
We have our caravan stored on the site where Martyn (benthosboy) works, and only found out by being on this site. He probably knows we are coming and that is why he has gone to Yorkshire
Busy day, have to take our 16 year old cat into the cattery, go shopping and then going to have my hair cut - nothing drastic, just a trim and colour. At some stage I will have to think about packing some clothes, anyone want to do my ironing :rotfl:
Forgot to say, I had a lovely time yesterday looking after DGD. She is 10 months old and is such a happy little thing.
Just caught up on yesterdays thread, and saw Smoky's post. I am so glad she has a good GP who understands the grieving process.
Hope everyone is OK xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning All!
I had another night of waking every two hours. Saw my Nurse Weds, she thinks it's a combination of MS and grieving for my Mamma. Not much fun tho!:o
Woke to hear the bin men over the road, and realised I hadn't put the recyling out:eek: Had to rush out and put the full bin out.
Had a lovely evening with my friends. The meal went really well, nothing left anyway!:T
((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs it.
Sun is shining again. OH due today, getting my second deck built this weekend!:T
Have a good day everyone!

Morning :hello:
for smoky, and anyone else who needs one. Hilstep, did your nurse give you any suggestions on getting more sleep?
Redruby - granny?! GRANNY?? :eek::rotfl:
The babies look quite big now that they're cleaned up properly, one was running this morning  He hasn't quite got the hang of it though, his back legs try to go faster than his front legs, he almost falls over himself and he has to stop and start againReggie Runt doesn't seem to be feeding but he's made it through the night - now that I know it's possible to hand-feed him, he'll be ok. I'll ring the vet at 9am - think I'll take the whole family along to show them off
