Evening all :hello:
I met up with a friend today after school. She used to be my year group leader, until she left at Christmas due to ill health so there was much gossip to exchange! She's also said that she's just "discovered" MSE and she'll be having a proper look later so I mentioned the lovely people on Old Style. Don't worry, I didn't tell her the truth.
:rotfl:
DH fed himself with pasta & pesto. He's thinking of doing the same tomorrow night as I'm going to a leaving do for a colleague.
The friend that I met up with tonight was going to do the Race For Life with me in just over a week. However, she's now got a family party to go to which she feels obliged to go to, so I'll be doing it on my lonesome. If anyone is going to be at Burghley in Stamford on 18th May, let me know and we can puff and wheeze around the course together.
Thinking of which, the Race For Life people have sent me a bag to fill of "high quality" second hand items. No doubt we've got plenty of things to shift, but I'll have to have a rummage.
Anyway, the WM has finished and I've got marking to do so I'll love you and leave you all.......

Evening all
at 6.10 this evening I found out from dd that her father is coming for tea - well that's nice - it's not like it's my house or anyhthing like that. slow forward three hours and he's not here yet so I'm getting it in the neck .... oh hang on here he is - "hi daddy - oh no don't worry about being late daddy ...." - GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRR
dd's friend's mum has texted to say that the girls' trip isn't next week but the 9th June - she has had the letter on her fridge for 9 months - thank goodness I have friends as slovenly as me
The letter states quite clearly that, yes they were going to charge us £176 for three days - can't think how we missed that.
oooh before I forget - chalky  :wave:I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

I went out to water the garden and came back in to this
They're 20 mins old in the pic (born at 8pm) and still a bit icky, I'll take more pics tomorrow
The one next to mum is very tiny and he's struggling a bit

WHATATWIT, I think it's the perfect excuse not to go to the wedding;)

Bgn rzl - I know you are not a cold and selfish person, (((hugs))) you're a lovely lass who cares about those around you. One of the reasons I related to the mans family in this particular case is that some years ago, quite a few actually (I am that old;)) I saw a family I knew go through and are still going through the trauma of losing their oh/dad as he was an electrician and working in very similar circumstances, I am assuming the poor guy was an electrician, I really don't think we appreciate the risks these guys take to keep our supplies of electricity running, I for one just flick a switch without really thinking about it.:o
Well back to os - the food dehydrator is cleaned and ready so hopefully I will have some dried food over the weekend.
Tonights courgette and tomato bake was delicious although oh wanted some corned beef with it, not going to make a veggie of him yet:rolleyes: Tomorrow i will be making some more malted brown bread for our sandwiches and putting a curry on in the slow cooker.

Congrats Tru - hope they are all OK - tbh - if the Mum thinks the lo won't survive, it won't be alive in the a.m. sorry if this upsets anyone.
Rzl - I'm interested in more information on your new "Toy" - We decided we would get one when we get back - (but as we are off again on the 28th, we may wait until we are back next time). I have an old Moulinex one, which works but is very messy, it seems to chuck bits of food out all over, and I will freecycle it, anyone recommend a good food processor, easy to clean, doesn't chuck bits of chopped food out while doing it, etc, bearing in mind I have a Chef with K beater, whisk and dough hook. Actually my SIL has offered me hers which is newer and hardly used, so will be freecyling my Mum's old one I have now. No-one on here needs a Kwood Chef do they?

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Apparantly runts are common when there's more than 2 babies so I'm less worried now. Baz is off to the vet tomorrow, she has some sort of skin condition which couldn't be treated while she was pregnant. I think he can be fed by hand but I'll check with the vet. I've also just found out that the mum will reject the runt if she thinks he won't survive - she trying to feed him at the mo so he should be ok.
There's something wrong with his back leg though, it's all floppy
The other 2 are moving around and he's just lying there (trying to walk a bit but not getting anywhere), looking all lopsided

we had a lab puppy that weighed half that of his siblings. We called him Busta, and didn't think he'd live, but I bottle fed him till he was strong enough, and he is as big as the rest now:D
Hope the tiddlers ok TRU xxxx:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
