OS daily thread Thursday 8th May

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 8th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Everybody :hello:

Just a quick one from me this morning as I really need to go water my veggies and hang out washing.
It's looking like another gorgeous day here, long may it continue :) Nothing special planned today, just the usual w**k, might attempt to dig a bit more of the garden later if it;'s not too hot and if I get finished at a reasonable time.

Dinner tonight will be goodness know what as the household are getting weary of salad already and it's too nice for acooked dinner, they wouldn't eat half of it anyway, any ideas???

Right must go do these jobs before I scoot off at 6am, have a good day everyone and I hope the sun shines for you.

((((((hugs)))))) to anyone who is in need.

See you later

Morning ab & everyone to come,

I've just finished watering and it's all looking very well under my expert care. Went to Mass this morning and then had to go and get some blood tests. Of course she had trouble. So two arms and four needles later out it come. Ouch. Got home around lunch time. This arv I've made some granola & gave Benny a hair cut. I'll have to do some more tomorrow as he can only stand so much.

There's a couple on the island who would be close to their 80's who are heading off for the UK on Saturday. When they arrive at Heathrow he's driving a hire car from there. Straight through flight. Puts us to shame. It took us days to recover and that was without driving. :D Must take whatever he's taking, or better still get DH to take some. ;)

ab Dinner  Twink has written good recommendations about the 4p curry sauce. Why do we need our throat anyway. :D
Granny is trying really hard to keep up on her holiday. ;)

    Good Morning All

Yes - beautiful and sunny here again.

Plans for today - washing and housework, need to make a couple of phone calls after 9am. Then at 10.30 am off to the hairdressers, went a couple of weeks ago for a trim but have decided I want to try something a bit different. Am excited and nervous at the same time.

I also have no idea what to do for dinner. Might get some chicken breast out to defrost then decide what to do with it later. The weather change does seem to throw my menu planning.

Off now to finish tea and have a quick surf before I need to get DD up.

Morning. Bright and sunny here too. Forcast was rain though? It was supposed to rain last night as well.... none seen.

Work at 1300. So I have chance to continue with the garden and get some other jobs out of the way.

The eggs are losing the right amount of weight so I am happy with their progress. I won't know if they are fertile until a day or two, but hopefully I should get a good amount hatch.

Helston Flora day today. Wish I was going.... great day out

Well got to get the bins out, make packed lunches and have coffee.

    Cheers

Morning all, I planned to do loads of gardening yesterday but had to stop, mad dogs and English men an all that. Came in and did a huge batch of Bolognaise, guess what's for dinner !! Managed to wade through a stack of paperwork and knit a square. Today I hope to finish the garden and do a bit of shopping, my friends are back from hols about 9pm and I like to get them milk, bread juice etc. in. Will try to bake them a cauli cheese and pop that round when I do their post and water plants. So another busy day.
I'm looking forwrad to tomorrow as that's when I see the Consultant re the Neuropraxia (pain in arms and numb hands) it woke me 5 times last night so gave in and got up at 4.45.
((((((((((Smokie))))))))))) just caught up with your last post, even though it was upseting to have a dream like that at least Eric apeared as you remember him, Happy and smiling. Think of you daily. x

Another lovely morning, it's amazing how much better you feel when the sun is shining - must account for Aussie's sunny disposition :D

Exciting day today, I am looking after DGD for the first time, so wish me luck. Think there will be lots of playing, reading stories and cuddles - will probably need a medicinal glass of wine or two tonight to get over it :rotfl:

Arkonite, know what you mean about meals, I really don't feel like cooking this weather. What about finger food, pizza, ribs, chicken goujons etc.

Have a lovely, sunny day everyone x

Off to work soon for another day in the sauna, it's not the weather I'm complaining about, just the fact that we still have the heating on!.
Katy's been up all night on the pc, but at least she's learnt to keep the study door closed, Thank heavens I've led such an exciting life, otherwise she might shock me. It seems I've even reached fame in the Arms now, thanks Nelski & Elona.
Hugs to Smokey, PP, Jayward, Mrs Mix & anyone in need.
    Have a good day.
    Hugs Hester
