Hi all - sat here with a coffee so thought I'd check in and see how everyone is. I have stripped the bed and the line is full of washing with another load waiting to go out. Dinner is prepped - I decided on Tarragon Chicken which has just been cooked, new potatoes, which have also been just been boiled for making potato salad, a Portuguese salad of sliced tomatoes and sliced onions layered and covered with rock salt and balsamic vinegar (yummy!) and a green salad, so, at least dinner tonight will be easy to do now that it's all 'to go'!
I have hoovered and dusted upstairs and down, done some of my office work, chatted to my Mum when she phoned just now and I'm just wondering what to have for lunch. I shall sit and watch Martin's show while I have that.
We have some chaps (bare-chested, actually, and rather tasty) resurfacing the pavement opposite but I am trying to ignore them while I sit at my desk - which just happens to overlook them! Calm down, dear!
Anyway, I'd better stop ogling and get on.
PenPen - they look gorgeous, your chicks!
R.Mac - hope the news is good!
Crazychik - commiserations about the car. It's such an expense these days.
Anyway, see ya!

Report on the news this morning is about how much food is thrown away. Family looks like mr and mrs perfect and a kitchen even bigger and better than mine! LOL! Children sitting neatly at the table doing homework. Alarming how much is wasted.
She has just mentioned the word 'old style'
PurpleIvy, I saw that - the one on GMTV? And the woman talking about moneysaving in relation to it (where was Martin????). I didn't have much time to watch it all properly, but heard her saying something about going back to the days of meal planning,etc... She should get herself over here
PenPen, thank you for the pic
They are sooooooo cute....
Anyhow, home from the office, decided to come and work at home as I can concentrate better (it's quiet while DD's are at school). Very difficult to work in an office base where you don't have your own desk, and have to hotdesk, with a tiddly little 18" square locker (at ground level) to keep all your stuff in. However, it was decided by people who don't actually have to work like that it was "efficient". The unsettling effect obviously doesn't matter....

:hello: Hello!
Thank goodness for that! Yesterday we woke up to no broadband, tv or phones, someone managed to damage a fibre optic cable belonging to virgin media and the whole lot went down for the day!
We also had a huge power failure later in the day, ours is back on but for many people it has yet to be restored, and school has been cancelled for the day! I would be quite joyful about that as the atmosphere at work is pretty bad at the mo but this is all tempered with sadness as a man was killed when our main sub station exploded, I feel so sad for his family.
In this hot weather I have been cooking in the mornings only so had plenty of food in when the power went but oh boy did I hanker for a cuppa! I should go back to my old style ways of keeping a full thermos by the kettle to avoid that ever happening to us again.
I did manage to get a large cupboard sorted out (4 bags for the bin and 1 large sack for the charity shop) so feel I have achieved.
Need to walk [strike]shrunk/bald[/strike]/groomed puppy later when it has cooled down a bit!
Off to catch up with the thread
(((hugs))) to JackieO, PP, Smoky, Mrs Mix and anyone else who could use one.

What a day !! deceided to finish gardening after I cut my hand on the seceturs
, went shopping and dropped a box of 10 eggs in Morries,
my hands just went numb. Felt the whole world was tut tutting. The staff just looked exhasperated.
I had 6 bananas going soft so shopped for ingrediants to make a cheesecake, did the crumb mix in a sandwich tin but when I saw the amount of fromage frais, quark, bananas, 3 eggs, caster sugar and lemon juice that I mixed I realised that it would spill over  , so I dug the crumble mix out and put it in a cake tin, poared the topping in and then realised that I hadn't used the tin with the loose bottom. I've thrown it in the oven, it takes 1 hr to cook ( 15mns to go ) and then recipe said turn off oven and leave for another hour then cool for 30 mns. Jeez what a palaver  Still, it will take me that long to clean the kitchen. First and proberbly the last time I make it. So much for my latest attempt at OS. Now I'm wondering how to get it out of the tin.0 -
Hi Guys!
I havent read all the thread, so hoping you are all ok.
Have had another rough day today, so have been quiet at home. No washing today but the beds are stripped tomorrow, so theres 2 loads to get through then and hopefully the weather will still be fine. DW will go on after dinner and DD will be emptying it as thats her chore tonight.
OH has done some gardening (with SPF15 on:rolleyes: ) and his rowing machine turned up, so he put that together. He is in the process of painting the decking a lovely dark green colour as we are having a BBQ on sunday if weather permits. He is also doing a veggie patch and has planted a few things so far.
We freecycled our BM today as we decided it takes too much space in our kitchen and we rarely use it except for pizza dough. I have a lovely big food mixer with a dough attachment, so the dough should be no problem. We dont like the bread that the BM turns out and have tried numerous variations.
Anyway, Id better go. I have some boiled eggs on the go and am making some pasta/mayo/sweetcorn to go with salad for dinner.
Hugs to all.
