    Morning all

Up bright and early this morning. Been saving up for a camcorder for when new grandchild arrives (probably sooner rather than later as DIL has had to stay in hospital for a few days for monitoring). It was supposed to arrive today, but got home from work yesterday and found Royal Mail had tried to deliver it. Soooooooo up early this morning and will pop in and get it on my way to work, slight detour but worth it to play with my new toy tonight!! Forgot to set the timer for the washing machine last night so that is whirring as we speak. It wont finish in time to peg out before I leave, so hopefully enough sun left when I get home to dry it enough before the end of the day. Sausages, jacket pots and baked beans tonight, nice and easy, how I like it!!

Have a good day everyone - byeeeeeeeee

Beautiful here again as well :) I love this nice weather - even my DD's are less stroppy...

Glad to see Granny isn't letting Mr GB out of sight on holiday.... :D

Aussie, hope you're not feeling too bruised now as well.

Arkonite, I was going to suggest something couscous based with cucumber, red onion/spring onion, tomato etc chopped up into it, and maybe marinaded chicken drumsticks or kebabs - sounds like charliesMum and redruby had similar ideas. I know what you mean though, I suddenly don't know what I fancy to eat either. I've got a chicken to roast for tonight, and will just have new potatoes and salad with it.

N9eav, do we get photos when the eggs start hatching? I remember hatching chicks at school many years ago!

Anyway, in the office today, need to type up loads of notes from assessment visits to prospective foster family and also report from another visit yesterday. That one was my last observation for this placement so nice to have that out of the way too.

Morning TNG :kisses3: So, did you notice the feel of the refreshing breeze more while you were running then..... ??!!! ;) :rotfl: Expect it reached parts it doesn't usually......

looks like its going to be hot again, went to aunties yesterday who at 86 was put straight home after being in hospital for three weeks with acute renal failure, no care package had been put in place but her GP got it all done in a matter of hours and is putting in a complaint

took kyle and dgs1 to the diabetic clinic yesterday too so not much was done on the home front apart from mixing up the utterly butterly tubs in the fridge, one had soup and one had butter, you can guess which one i tore the lid off to spread my pancake, soup everywhere :D

off to uncles today to give him a haircut then might look into the library

hugs to smoky, anniestar, jayward and Penny-Pincher x

    hugs to all xx

Morning all - a bit later on here today but I had a restless night's sleep (too hot) and must have woken up about four times then I ended up missing the alarm. DH had his porridge at 90 miles an hour and raced out of the house for work; I've just whipped the sheets off and into the WM, made the bed and cleaned the bathroom so all I have to do is dust and hoover upstairs; that'll be fun - it's already really warm up there despite all the windows being open. Still, better to do it now than at midday whenit'll be even hotter.

SMOKY - thinking of you and the children.

    CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:

PENPIN - Hope you have a good day.

JAYWARD - my sister was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 10 years ago; her GP at the time was not particularly helpful but she moved up to Lincolnshire due to her husband's work and her current GP is brilliant and will let her suggest things she has read about in the papers. He said that, although the condition is not life-threatening, it is life-changing and he's very helpful to her. She has a motorised scooter but sometimes has days when she doesn't need it. She is in the middle of a degree course in Art and is doing really well. The college have given her a 'buddy' who helps her throughout the day and she is allowed to keep the same workspace always set up - she is so glad she moved. The key seems to be finding a GP who takes the condition seriously and she found that her old one had no time for it or her. In the USA they take it far more seriously. It's a rotten condition but my sister has learned to live with it simply because there's so much she wants to do!

MRS MIX - thinking about your Dad

BETH - take it easy with the knitting if your arms and hands are painful, please.

The weather is fantastic, isn't it? I'm not going to moan about it being too hot, too cold, too wet or too dry - when you think about how they have suffered in Burma, it puts our weather moans right in their place, doesn't it? I can hardly believe the loss of life there and the damage that that cyclone has done. The Burmese seem very much like the Indonesians - very dignified and doing their best to cope; I just hope and pray that their leaders allow the aid agencies to get on with what they need to do.

Well, today I'm getting all the housework done early then I need to get some w**k done - my desk is littered with things that need doing, some of them with imminent deadlines so I cannot put them off any longer.

Dinner is something with chicken which I found in the freezer but I haven't decided what. If I'm honest, I'd fed up with thinking of different meals to do every night. I can see the temptation to live out of boxes of convenience food but just can't bring myself to do it! Sometimes, though, it's just too warm to stand peeling things at the sink! I think I'll end up doing some sort of stir fry and salad. My DH MAY have to go to France to help his brother, who lives there, lay a patio. He's been let down several times by the French chap who is supposed to be doing it and if he doesn't turn up at the next arranged time, then DH will fly over there; I'm hoping he will in a way, I'll have a break from having to cook properly and just live on eggs and cold meat for a few days! Plus I must sort out some cupboards and the shed and it's so much easier on my own - I can be more ruthless!

Anyway, I am living up to my name now so I must go (can you believe they used to call me Chatty Kathy at school?!!)

I'll see you all later; hope everyone is having the same beautiful sunshine and blue skies that we have here.

    KathyXX

    Morning all,

Sorry been away with stuff going on left, right and centre since the bank holiday weekend.

Bought a huge bag of spuds at Morrisons so that's for tea tonight...not all of it but it's the main part. Just need t o figure out what else to do....just wondering off topic whether potatoes will become more trendy again if/when the rice and wheat price hikes stick/worsen...

When we shopped at the weekend, I was persuaded by DD2 to buy some carrot seeds...in her own very intense way, she explained how it was cheap to get 1500 seeds so cheaply and they would be ready in ONLY 2 MONTHS....we'd been walking pretty much all day but the first thing she wanted me to do was plant her seeds ...so, we're at the planning stage for their vegetable patches...DD1 wants flowers but she needs to learn that flowers don't taste good in a salad...any suggestions for an inexperienced veg grower?

hugs to all who need/would like them and have a sunny day!
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

    Morning :hello:

My elbow is agony this morning frown.gif It's my own fault for doing loads of gardening yesterday  I'm really tired, I was zooming around on my bike yesterday. I stopped at a friend's house to re-fuel with coffee :D then when I got home I grabbed a sandwich and got stuck into the garden. Then some burly blokes turned up, so they (and mr tru) jumped over the fence into next door's garden and dug it over for them. They grow veg but have had a hard time of it lately and haven't keep on top of things so they're late with the planting. They're in their 80s and couldn't manage the weeds. I kept the blokes supplied with tea, beer, wasabi peanuts and A$$ Kicking Snack Mix :D and spent half the evening trying to catch the rabbit to put her away for the night

About 15 minutes after the blokes left, one of them rang me in hysterics - he was walking home with his shovel and the police stopped him, wanting to know exactly why he was walking the streets at 10.30pm with a shovel in hand :D

I need to clean the animals out today and hoover up. Only one load of washing to do. I've given myself the afternoon off :D
