Quick question re: setup. If my friend sets it up to his BT broadband account and decides to change back to the BT modem (don't ask why) and get rid of the wireless, will there be a re-installation involved of the BT software or will it be a simple case of removing the wireless router and plugging the BT modem back in? He is worried he won't be able to do that, but I think thats all that needs doing?
Thanks.Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -

If you go to Omega here:
http://track.dhlgroup.co.uk/tracking/
Then click by indent code put you number in and it will tell you where it is.
I ordered on 26th, got email on 27th with a tracking number saying it was on its was and looking today it is in my town and out for delivery (so any time now).
I too was told it should be 4th - 6th October.

Babbler - it will just be a case of swapping the cables out, and maybe re-installing the modem drivers on the PC
But nothing that needs a BT engineerI'm Not A Dog But I May Be Mad0 -

Optimism of bargin Netgear buy soon wore of... supposedly superior to my BT Voyager 2100 wireless kit, but quite frankly it's performance so far has been rubbish by comparison! Having been wireless for some time I can compare differnt modems and the difference in performnce is very marked. Netgear crashes, freezes and general wierd behaviour behavoiur even when filmware updates insatalled and USB2 card. Netgear website sadly testimony to just why this is being sold at bargin basement price - can only recommend to Del Boy.'A Man Who Knows The Price Of Everything Knows The Value of Nothing' Oscar Wilde0

There seem to be a lot of fiddly settings you need to get right, light the MTU value, and a couple of others depending on what provider you are with. Have had a couple of glitches so far but managed to fix them... they do recommend you DONT upgrade the firmware though - but then you miss out on the "Super" fast transfer rates.
Difficult to get going but seems ok (touch wood) now...Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
I cannot get it to work either, Im seriously thinking of returning it (or selling on e-bay) which is a shame as I really wanted it to work. The PC card was easy peasy to install. The router is another thing altogether; the test light doesnt come on (it should, then go off again) and I cant even get a connection with it wired via the ethernet. It says to install as wired first. Did everyone else do that, or did you just go straight to the wireless installation? I have tried both but to no avail.0

I installed mine as wired....and am still running it as wired. Though I tested the USB dongle on my laptop. I didn't have any problem with the test light coming on at all...but did have a problem connecting to the web - which was quickly sorted by calling Netgear support (I needed to change some proxy settings). Why don't you give them a ring? 01344 397021 ask reception to transfer you to Tech Support0 -

Who said don't upgrade the firmware, I was going to get mine all up and working then do that once it was going. Still a few more days till the ADSL is activated though.0
