Click on the link in post #131.

    Yes, remove current modem.
Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.

Im considering buying this Netgear router, only question is do i want a
Netgear WG511T 108 Mbps Wireless PC Card, a Netgear - WG311T 108 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter, or a Netgear WG111T 108Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter to go with it?

Just to add to the discussion ... it's probably obvious, but also remember that the USB device is not supported by Windows 98/ME or earlier. System requirements for the USB dongle are for Windows 2000 or XP/SP2.
  • Hi,

Amazon UK have a great offer for a Netgear DG834GT 108kbs wireless router/adsl modem.

Add it to your basket, along with a WG111T USB dongle or a WG511T laptop card, and apply the dicsount code *** code removed by Board Guide - please see here for explanation *** and the price drops from £97 to £57, or £53 if you select free postage.

I have this router and can recommend it 100%. They are going on eBay for £70 alone, and the card or USB is worth about £20 too. Grab this bargain before it goes!

    ;)

No worries - and be careful with posting codes on this page - tends to be frowned apon by the admin people ;)

Guys I want a card for my laptop I have a Toshiba Satalite it only has one PCMCIA card slot which I have my bluetooth card in. I dont really want to use a USB dongle so this offer wont help me.

I do have a place on the underside to put a card (mini pci I think its called). Toshiba have a special card which works with the switch on the laptop but I have instructions on how to use a normal card and disable this functionality.

Does anyone know where I can get one of these cards?

    Many Thanks Tony

Yes - it's mini pci (I'm presuming your Tosh has a built in aerial)
