    Mines still around £97
I can get the lower spec DG834g and WG111 down to about £65 but nothing else.
Spent all day on this so far today - I need to get on with some work.
I was pulling my hair out too......thinking I'd missed it, until I read the thread at DVD reviewer : http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=223&Thread=483491&Type=1

For anyone who jumped in for the Netgear kit earlier with the total of 62.98 pounds, you can send an email to Amazon to tell them that it is still under 30-day price promise, and the router dropped down for 10 pounds. You will get a 10-pound refund.

    Hope this helps!

I can confirm this works - I just got £10 rebate as follows:

The discounts we offer for items on our website do vary from time to

time. I've checked your order # and found that we

now offer a greater discount on "Netgear DG834GT 108Mbps Wireless

ADSL Modem Router with 4-port 10/100 switch" than at the time you

    placed your order.

We are only able to adjust the price of an order in instances where

less than thirty days have passed between the date on which an order

was dispatched and the time that an item is reduced in price on our

    site.

I have therefore requested a refund of 10.00 GBP to your payment

card. This amount reflects the difference between the price you were

charged and the current discounted price. The refund should appear as

a credit on your next bank statement.

Completed refunds information can be viewed when you visit Your

Account once you've received a confirmation e-mail from us. Under

Where's My Stuff? click "Go" next to "Open and recently dispatched

orders" and sign in with your e-mail address and password. The refund

information will be visible at the bottom of the relevant order's

    summary page.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience or concern

this price change may have caused.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.

Im considering buying this Netgear router, only question is do i want a
Netgear WG511T 108 Mbps Wireless PC Card, a Netgear - WG311T 108 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter, or a Netgear WG111T 108Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter to go with it?

I have a laptop, if that makes a difference, and Im on BT Broadband

As per my earlier post, Id recommend the Card for the laptop rather than the USB dongle. The dongle hangs out from your USB port and could easily be knocked causing damage to the USB connector.

The card is 75 % inserted into a laptop and is therefore more securely inserted.

    Hope this helps your decision.

  • Laptop card abviously no good for a desktop. Can resolve problem of protruding dongle by using the USB extesion lead which comes with it.

Extension lead does mean USB dongle can be positioned away from laptop but then you have a long messy cable to contend with whereas the card simply slots intothe laptop - much neater

Indeed, but if you own a laptop AND a PC the USB stick is the best option as can move it between the two - assuming you only use one of them at a time. I think thats what he was saying :)

  • Yes Babber...Thanks and just to summarise.

If u r buying this kit for a desktop, the card cannot be used in the desktop so buy the dongle and use the extension lead to position it out of the way (could tape to the top or side of the pc case)

If u r buying for a laptop the card is probably the best/most convenient option.

If you have both a PC and laptop and u don't want both on the internet at the same time the dongle can be switched between both.

If want both your desktop and laptop (or indeed any other computers) to access the internet at the same time you will need a netwrok adaptor for each. There are 3 types

    1. A network adaptor card which slots onto the motherboard inside the PC (a stubby arial sticks out the back) - internal network adaptor cards are not part of the Amazon offer

    2. A laptop card for a laptop

    3. A USB adaptor (Dongle) with will fit into a USB card on any PC or laptop (can be switched between both)

Please also note my earlier warning about instalation and stability problems with this particular kit... its almost legendary!! Read installation instructions v carefully and its suggested could help to update drivers from Netgear

For driver update for the 108 Mbps Super Wireless ADSL Router with 4-Port 10/100 Switch

    For the dongle - WG111T

    http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WG111T.asp

    For the card - WG511T

    http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WG511T.asp

Hope this helps, particularly those not too savy with wireless networking

I think should read "If want both your desktop and laptop (or indeed any other computers) to access the internet WIRELESSLY at the same time ".

I think most people with a PC and a laptop (or 2nd PC) which need to be connected at the same time will have the PC connected via cable to the router and have the laptop (or 2nd PC) connected wirelessly using the PCMCIA card or USB dongle.

That was my configuration...... but with the price of PCI cards quite low people might find it more convenient to have the PC elsewhere (without a wire mess) and not have to worry about location of sockets - in a bedroom not near a phone socket maybe....... mine will probably go in a cupboard when I move as it on all the time (and a bit noisy).

As you say - something to consider when buying.
