I wonder if this will put a stop to their games....... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7416809.stm
I doubt it; -
"...But Mr Sanders,( David Sanders, lead officer for civil law at the Trading Standards), had a word of caution for consumers expecting all con-artists to face justice.
"We are a limited band of people and we are only going to investigate the most serious cases," he said.
And Mr Sanders added that, especially in the smallest local authorities, there were not enough trading standards officers and they were not well enough resourced to conduct in-depth investigations into every potential breach of the rules.."Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
I'm a lazy (get in there, get out as quick as I can, hate shopping) shopper but this should make it more interesting

My partner was in a pound shop last week where 'Coke' was on offer.
She was standing behind someone who placed a bottle on the counter, The assistant told him they were two for a pound, he told her that he only wanted one!
Still cost him a POUND!
What a plonker, Rodney!Filiss0 -

Silly people
Maybe they don't need two and think why should they add to the amount of produce simply thrown away because it never got used in time.
I'd rather see the items sold for 50% off than BOGOF, then you can just choose one item and known it's likely you'll use it before it goes off.
BOGOF's are not so much a problem on tinned item or other items with a long shelf life, but for short shelf life items it should never be used as it just encourages waste and when you see we people in the UK throwing away 30% of their food and then in other countries they are without food, it is sickening.
Supermarkets and manufacturers should not be encouraging waste, as this waste food can not be sold to feed animals it can only be incinerated or land-filled etc. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I do wish people would use the correct wordings,(initials), I know there is a word for these but cannot remember it at the moment),
The correct letters should be BOGOFF, when being referred to as "bog off"
BOGOF does not say "bog off". but "bog of,(ov).
OF= as in "I will have one of,(ov), those"
OFF= as in I will jump off the wall.
The pronunciations are totally different.
I know it is probaly being pedantic, but hey what the heck!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

yes very more so when you cant spell :rotfl:0 -
After all there's no reason reason why BOGOF can't have the OF pronounced like off.
There are many words where same spelt endings are pronounced differently, many words that are pronounced differently depending on where you live. For example adding extra Rs to words where there shouldn't be an R such as glass. Different pronunciation of words like look, book and cook. To me it's luk, buk and cuk, but to others it's looook booook and cooook. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Very true, typed to quickly and did not spellcheck
Although don't forget, if you want to omit a letter from a word then remember to put the apostrophe in; - can't :rotfl:
