I have a consultation booked in Optimax Belfast and have been referred by a friend who got hers done in FEB 2012.

She has given me the £500 off voucher, I was wondering if anyone can tell me, on the bottom of the voucher it says "cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer"

So with them doing a Half Price Deal at the moment (which never seem to end) will they take a further £500 off or it only off the full price ?? Anyone else used it successfully off the 2295 price ??

    Thanks

I had laser eye surgery at Ultralase on Saturday.

Very pleased so far with results. I had Ultra Lasik and went for a "blended" vision which means one eye was adjusted for distance and the other adjusted for nearness. The brain then works out a "prescription" where can see both distance and nearness, IYSWIM.

I have worn contacts/glasses for best part of 30 years and the prescription was for distance only. Over the last year I had to start wearing +1s over my lenses when reading paper/books, trying to see labels in shops, texting etc. and it was becoming too much of a compromise faffing about with the reading glasses (of which I had four pairs of all over the place!). So for the blended vision, I have lost a little bit of distance but gained with the near sight.

Also had a consultation at Optimax but they told me they could only correct my distance vision (so the same as my contacts and glasses) and I would still have to wear readers - so didn't see the point in that because for me, I wanted to get away from wearing the readers. Thankfully, I went to Ultralase who offered me the blended vision.

The actual treatment took only 20 mins and after 30 mins in a low-lit recovery room I went home with slightly blurred vision, wearing sunglasses and a cap pulled down low on drive home (I wasn't driving!). Haven't had any pain whatsoever and after I had it done only had a discomfort which was like I had an eyelash stuck in each eye. After a night's sleep that disappeared and vision was clearer.

Would recommend Ultralase and am very happy.

  • I had LASEK at Optimax on Saturday, so far the results seem pretty good. I probably have a few £500 off vouchers if anyone would like one.

    Hi

I had my laser eye tratment with Ultralase in Liverpool about 4 years ago..................

I am going to have to give them a call because the sight in my right eye has really decreased, so much so thats its really irritating driving or watching TV as you can really see the blur (very distracting) I paid about £3400 for the treatment, but I wonder will they make me try and pay again to rectify the problem???

    Does anyone know!

    Thanks
    Sam

Current Wowcher for LASIK @ Optimax...

    http://www.wowcher.co.uk/deals/national-deal/deal-38731-detail/1995-instead-3770-intralase-wavefront-lasik-laser/deal.html

£1995 for Wavefront Intralase LASIK, which compares to their current April offer of £2295 (if you book a consultation in April).
So a bit of a saving, if of course, you can afford to pay the whole fee upfront.
  • Hi all,

There's a competition being run by Freedom Vision to win free laser eye surgery on their Facebook page.

They seem quite a new company so they are probably trying to boost interest. Maybe worth having a look though!
  • Hi Paul

I am also considering Laser and seen 2 for 1 offer at Optimax. If willing we can become friends for cheap Laser.
