Great Laser Eye Surgery Hunt

Where can I find cheap laser eye surgery? is a question I'm often asked. There are lots of deals out there and a whole new form of tourism springing up around it.
I'd like to tap MoneySavers' enormous research powers to gather them all in one place. Now of course this isn't a recommendation for doing it. That's something only the person having it done can decide based on their own circumstances after full, detailed research.
Yet so many people are asking I thought I'd gather all the best deals, 2 for 1s plus the safest way to do it in one place. Even if you've gone abroad to do it let me know.

Optimax clinics are from £595 per eye.....which is strange as when I had my eyes done there 5 years ago it was only £499 per eye but there you go. Very professional atmosphere and I was happy with my results.0

Optimax are on ebay £695 or £795 both eyes, its their MD selling spare capacity and you can email him direct from there (apparently). Personally as a -7.50 myopic I am waiting until intralasik (using laser for flap cut instead of a blade) becomes affordable its £5k at the moment. This signature is not mine!0

Have got some useful links although none to beat the Ebay, Optimax offer, which I understand from previous posts when it was much cheaper, offers the same treatment as the full price Optimax treatment but at a time to suit them rather than you but if you can be flexible timewise it's a great saving.
However I feel everyone contemplating this treatment should read the threads through carefully including the NICE guidelines and pay particular attention to those with a professional understanding of the long term consequences or what they may involve. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I've just had my eyes 'lasered' by Optimax and am so pleased - I registered on their website ages ago and got a special offer sent through recently for 'friends go free' it seems they send these out every so often so my friend and I took them up on this offer and had surgey in August! Well worth the money! I would advise people to register with the companies and wait and see if anyone gets any special offers through that take their fancy??
I'm not sure if it is mentioned in the other forums but if you are an NHS employee you get half priced treatment at Optimax.
Hope this helps - Rachie
p.s. if anyone wants to know more about the surgery just ask or PM me!

Perhaps we should have a thread where MSE "friends" can link up to take advantage of this type of promotion. Did you have to both appear at the same centre at the same time?
If you don't have to both be at the same centre at the same time then using MSE "friends" would work quite well.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Hi. :hello: I've found the following site, offering laser eye surgery at various stores located around the UK from £395 per eye. A quick look found that there are many stores around or within major cities that do the actual treatment. They also offer a free consultation. The website is http://www.thelaserclinic.co.uk.
Hope this helps someoneMSE_Martin wrote:Where can I found cheap laser eye surgery? is a question I'm often asked. There are lots of deals out there and a whole new form of tourism springing up around it.

I would call into one of the Eye clinics and ask how much a cancellation would cost. My girlfriend did this in Leeds and got it for £600 (both eyes) interest free.0

I had my eyes lasered in July at Accuvision in Birmingham, It was fantastic no pain no hassle and excellant service - recommend to anyone. Its a new clinic at Solihull but they have had a clinic in London for years.
I checked out Ultralase in Leeds but wasnt very impressed with the service.
I used a web site called https://www.lasik-eyes.co.uk (click on clinics ) to get an impartial view on all clinics, as people post their experiances for each clinic. Excellant source of information
I had the custom wave front surgery, Accuvision also do surgery on people who have been turned down by other clinics as the laser they use is very non intrusive and removes less cornea than standard lasers. If anyone wants to know further details pm me.
I will however say this - dont even consider surgery unless you have read lots of experiances and are 100% certain you want to go ahead. It is a surgical procedure and does carry risks(all be it small ones, you need to be aware of them)
I have 20/20 vision now, Its the best money Ive spent and so simple and painless. Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T0
