  • my son is going for a consultation today at optimax.Does anyone have an up to date price they paid for the varios options as my son isnr very good at haggling although it seems slightly strange doing this around your health.Would it be best to go to another clinic to compare prices as at the end of the day one would presume that there are no good/bad surgeons that you would ever hear about to say i want this one or that one

Probably the best way to find out if a cheap and good laser eye surgery center is for you to look for past patients who have had a laser eye surgery performed. Check with them if they are satisfied with the laser eye surgery center they engaged? Ask them if they have heard of any cheap and good laser eye surgery center from their friends. So, find a cheap and good laser eye surgery center in your area and finally get rid of those vision enhancers once and for all.
  • Like Ian have been saving for a while for laser vision correction as I think it is something that you should not skimp on......it is your eyes after all!!
There is a fantatsic clinic near me in Surrey called Optegra Eye Care, where I have recently been for a consultation, their prices seem more expensive at first but after investiagtion they are on a par with other companies. I hope to have my surgery performed there later this year.

I thought I would bring this posting to the front as I am considering laser eye treatment. Is there any up to date feedback on this or other sites?

what up to date feedback do you need to know?

all depends on your eye health, surgery type etc
  • Optimax offer Lasik at £394 per eye and they accept Tesco Clubcard deals. Thats £200 in Tesco vouchers for new eyes. A new clinic is opening in Milton Keynes soon. As soon as it is Im booking myself in!!:j

I was previously booked into optimax but changed to oe after alot of thinking, my reason well money i guess, then i though long and hard about it and decided to go where i felt comfortable with.

optimax in my opinion only want your cash, they dont send out literature that i asked for, were useless on the phone and dident seem to know what was going on. And i dident feel it was personal service at all, just do you want it,yes sign here. also there optician in manchester that checks you is SO rude and condesending to say the least, she almost shouted at me when i asked questions about anything, it was if she dident want to be there or see anyone !!!!!!!!

Oe on the other hand are professional, prompt and very organised with any requests i have made, the staff are all knowledable and helpful. The optician who did the checks was chatty, polite and very helpful answering any questions, and put me totally at ease with the procedure that he explained in detail.

I have researched this for over ten years !

I will keep you posted with my results in two weeks time.

I for one would be very interested to hear how you get on as I went into the Manchester Optimax today actually and didnt have much luck trying to get a consultation. they only seem to do mornings - because I said I couldnt do tomorrow morning their next one is not till 31st July!? Had to pay £30 too which is refundable apparently... best had be!

I have also booked into Optical Express for a free consulation which is next Thursday. My friend had his eyes done here last year and recommended them to me - I think I only opted to go Optimax as I can get 25% off through work.

Having done a lot of research into laser vision correction I came across the site www. lasik-eyes .co.uk (sorry I can't post links) it is a really useful review site that has information about surgeons and clinics. A good site to check out before you embark on a consultation.
