mm it was an extra £17 a week i took off the £15 payments! this is great because befor ei joined your thread i was looking at debt free by april 2009!!!! and just spending extra money. there are a few things i would like though so i may spend a little. i want a garden shed as mine is very old and big one like mine sold on e bay for £90 and the one i want is £210 so thinking about that!

I'd like your opinion. This year my DDs want to spend christmas with their dad and to celebrate with me on their return-that's fine by me, fair is fair and all that... Presents. They have a bank book (no money but a bank book) What if I take their bank books and put so much moneyt in their accounts each m,onth until christmas and then when they come home they can have their bank books and I will take them shopping for their main presents??? Does that sound like a good idea to you guys? It will spread the bulk of the cost of christmas for me as I will be paying in regular amounts every month instead of having to find the money at the time. your thoughts please?
    Thanks in anticipation.

I think that's a great idea cath- you can get them a few bits andpieces so they have something to open and then they can pick what they want afterwards. Even better- see if they want to wait til after Xmas and they can get bargains in the sales- saying that most sales start boxing day anyway.

I second that, my parents did something similar when I was about 5 or 6 and I can still remember how excited I was when I got to go shopping. It's even better if it helps you to budget :).

Sounds like a perfect idea Cath, and like others have said maybe get a few bits to open and then take them in the Sales.

righ i am back for swimming the family decision is to sell the wii !! ii am going to list it on e bay tomorrow.
as for the shed i am going to do a car boot to clear it out a bit more then i am going to look at e baying it and using the money to buy a smaller one that will fit down the side of my house!
i think i will need to do at least 2 car boots to shift everything!!

Well i finished reading up about Mortgages on the way home and I must say Martin made a lot of sense, and I feel a bit better about what kind of mortgage i would like to go for.

I have made a couple of notes so i dont forget by the time i come to do it all, and so its all gone into my "New House" folder I have made! :rotfl: :j
