Morning all!
Have a busy morning-Sainsbugs coming this morning then am walking into town to get my passport sent off. Already have the dw and wm on their first loads, ordered what I was going to get in Boots online as I am not well enough to handle the city today, esp as it's a sunny Bank Hol-bound to be packed with tourists as it's not quite hot enough for the beach yet!
When I get back from town I'll be grating carrot and apple. The carrot for adding to meals, the apple for apple and cinnamon muffins.
Hope to get the spare room finished by tomorrow, and then start on our bedroom-hoping half term will be full of painting and new carpets... I hope anyway! Got housework and meal planning to do too-had such a busy week that the mess has built up, although OH has done loads of clutter clearing at the same time, so I'm chuffed with that.
Have a nice, sunny Saturday everyone x

Washing up done
I am thinking about making a banana bread in a little while but not sure whether i should because i know i will eat loads of it! LOL0 -
Hugs hugs to Taplady, so sorry to hear about your JR xx

DH has just come out of the shower and 'jiggled'.:rolleyes2 Does anyone else have to put up with comedians at this time in the morning? He's now flapping his arms in the air to let his deodourant dry. .
The mind boggles......I have all sorts of mental images conjuring up.... best to try and stop them I think...!!!!
Squeaky - definitely an interesting dream too!!
Just sat in bed & hemmed oldest DD's work trousers she was given for her new Saturday job - going into town shortly, so she is cadging a lift too. Will go for a hot chocolate with youngest DD, then home to type/essay write...

Squiggly - tell me about it!!!
About to get up - have been playing word games on facebook.
The phone was ringing a moment ago - wonder if tesco are thinking of delivering early? They do sometimes.
Best make a move and get my hair washed. I look like the mad professor at the moment. Not heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

Woke up early and in a burst of enthusiasm filled the sink with hot water and bio washing powder to get it clean.
Why did I buy a white sink? It looks filthy the moment you do anything - peel veg - empty teapot etc!
Have refilled the dishwasher as DD had loaded it in a very odd way last night and I doubt how much stuff got properly clean.
Still it was nice of her to help.
Still have rolls from baking yesterday so that will do for a brekkie.
Have Jersey potatoes with something from the freezer for tea and need to get DH to take me to Lidl for veg etc.
Hugs to anyone needing one :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
I can hear movement upstairs so going to switch kettle on and attack the sink again - its a double one so I still have the joy of the small sink to go!
Must look as if have been working fingers to the bone! Not slobbing about on here in PJs with a tray of tea1!!!;)

Morning all. Late start for me - I was up really early but got carried away surfing and listening to the dawn chorus and then, all of a sudden it was broad daylight. It's lovely now, warm and sunny, a beautiful day. The washing is on the line and the dough is rising for the bread. I am in the middle of prepping veggies for today and tomorrow and then I shall make some cakes for the weekend.
SMOKY - thinking of you all.
PENPIN - so sorry you are feeling washed out; I hope the day gets better for you.
MARTYN - your birdie friends sound wonderful. I have a couple of siskins in my garden; they're gorgeous, aren't they? I also have loads of blue tits, blackbirds and sparrows as well as the obligatory wood-pigeons. I love the dawn chorus; it's something that only nature in the raw can produce.
TAPLADY - I am so sorry about your little dog; thinking of you and your family.
REDRUBY - how's the nephew situation? I do hope he hasn't been made to go home and that his siblings have been investigated.
CHURCHMOUSE - :hello: :hello: :hello:
Well, I am another one thrilled with yesterday's election results. I don't even live in London and I got sick of seeing Ken Livingstone's face - I am old enough to remember the days of the GLC!
Anyway, it's great that it's a bank holiday weekend. I work from home so I can work if I want to but DH is enjoying the long weekend; he has worked flat out lately so I shall take the time off to share with him. He has promised to decorate the dining room/office but I won't grumble if he just doesn't feel like it. Aren't I a nice wifey?? We are not going to watch the TV tonight; we will open a bottle (or three) of Vino Collapsio and just listen to music. DS2 bought the Duffy album for DH's birthday and it's fantastic. She has a wonderful voice and every track on the cd is brilliant. We shall, of course, listen to a lot of Motown as well. That always goes down well with the wine!
Anyway, I suppose I'd better get on with the veggies and then do the baking. AUSSIE - we are having your Savoury Impossible Pie for dinner tonight - I have put the recipe in my filebox so I won't lose it again!
Have a great Saturday, everyone.

the house is hoovered and the floor scrubbed, just the bathrooms to do so will have a walk later then might go to tesco tomorrow to have a look at their value range display
got woken by the cat last night, he decided he wanted out at 2am and thought the best way to waken me was by jumping on me, i bet you were glad squeaky to waken from your dream
i have tadpoles in my pond now so will have to start feeding them soon, i usually just throw in some tinned cat food but not sure if thats ok, not so many birds coming to feed now but uncle has a woodpecker and badger come regularly
hugs to smoky and family

Good Morning All
It never but pours in this house! OH had to be towed home last night by the RAC. The timing belt has broke! He's on the phone now to our mechanic, but it doesn't look good! roughly £400 to do, and may need a new engine or scrap it. So Im going to make a few other phone calls for a second opinion.
exOH is kicking off about having the kids this wk end.
Just dont need the hassle.
OH just loading the other car up ready to do the car boot.
Ive got ironing to do, & will start on some housework in a mo when I can get motivated.
So if you dont see me around for a while, look out for me on crimewatch, as I may end up doing a bank job!!!!
Take care

Morning everybody :hello:
I'm trying to switch my panny on at the mo, but as it was left plugged in yesterday, it's got itself in a twist and won't do anything other than a 4hr bake. Have pulled plug and am waiting for it to reset so I can get a loaf on. DD1 has been up and washed the floors this morning for me already, wonder what she's after

Possibly will get WM on later, but DH has to look at it first as it decided to leak yesterday
Lets hope it's just a leaky pipe or something. No big plans for today. If it stays dry I might get into the garden later, but it's not looking hopeful, maybe it will be better over the weekend. I'm off Monday and Tuesday so plenty of time to do that. My grass needs cut and I have lots of creeping buttercup to dig out from round my cottone aster, other veg plants to go out ion the bed too I hope.
Martyn, there's a wee bird chirping away out in my back yard somewhere and everytime I hear it I think of you, simply because you'd probably be able to tell me what it is
I haven't got a clue and I'm not even going to try and describe how it sounds
Squeaky, glad it was only a dream!!!
((((((hugs)))))) to all who are in need, especially smoky, pen-pin and taplady. :grouphug:
Right I need to go see if my BM has sorted itself out yet and I also need more :coffee:
See you all later
