    Thanks mrs. m!
today I managed to spend £7 on a haircut- much needed. I HATE going to the hairdressers. I went to one of those cheapo places, usually £4.50 per haircut but got charged extra becasue I had some layers cut in. It looks nice tho. I also bought some Crest toothpaste 2 for 87p for 100g. And ice cream 2 for £2 in iceland (who are now doing 4pt milk- 2 for £2) Tried to get my free hovis from Tesco but they wouldn't take the voucher as there's no barcode! How annoying! So got 12 crumpets for 50p X2 in iceland instead. Yumyum.
I also got my vitamins and 300 baby cotton buds for 38p. Not bad shopping day really!
I've also figured out that this year, I won't earn enough to pay any tax therefore any interest I get on savings will be tax free! Brilliant! I've told Halifax and I need to let lloyds know! Not that it'll make a huge difference to us yet as we've not really got savings, but it should help a bit later on this year if it all goes according to plan!

Well done for getting a lot achieved in a day! I'm really enjoying reading your diary as well-it's spurring me on to get my bum in gear! I've also been to Iceland today-i don't normally go in there but was in town today so had to pick up some of their brilliant bargains like £1 washing powder and 4 chicken breast for £3.25-I didn't notice the milk-pants!

Fantastic, i love days like that...I get a real kick out of bargains.
You could open an Isa, they have no tax either. I have a few pence in one, and made quite a bit in interest last year....before Mr.B gate:rotfl:

Just reminded me i have some crumpets in bread bin..am in the mood for some.Yummy.

Oh another quick thought, wonder if you get your vits on prescription for free? All adds up if you do.
    keep up the good work..BOBx

    Morning Jaks,

just updated myself on your diary.. men can be such idiots at time and they get millions times worse when they get drunk. i remeber when i used to work in a bar.
As for the debt free stuff your doing really well, its hard when your having a baby, and i found that half of the stuff i bought i never used  so the fact that your saving up what you dont spend for baby is great. a few of my friends have just had babies and i've bought them a hamper of toiletries and bits and bobs, all things that will save them money, and i'm sure you'll get a few gifts when baby arrives.

keep up the good work as you'redoing really well, not long to go now with both debts and baby! and enjoy your mat leave

Thanks guys. I'm really excited today because my loan payment has reduced my balance by £60.30! Brilliant! Although i'm a bit confused as a payment from dh internet banking Halifax came out of his account yesterday and has yet to appear in my bank- it's going on my o/d and loan so i'm quite anxious to get on with it really. If it doesn't appear tomorrow, i'll have to go into the bank and ask them about it. It's for £777 so that's a lot of money!
I got a credit alert from credit expert today (i've cancelled my free trial now!) but the only thing that's different is the credit card balance- been updated to £1790 but it's £0 now so still not right. So annoying.
BOB- that's a good idea! I'm seeing the midwife today so i'll ask her if I can have a prescription for vits. What a good idea. Why didn't I think of that before?!
Hi Beck- my iceland were literally just putting up the signs for the milk promotion when I was in there so maybe next time you go in there will be some? Hopefully. I can't trust myself to go to ASDA for theirs- I spend too much money! (I think that's the idea!)

Thanks for the great support everyone!

I'll have to have a nose for that milk tomorrow! Great idea for those vitamins. It's fantastic when you update your signature to a lower amount isn't it? Everything will soon be on 0 for you.

oooh I hope so. By the way, our Tescos is now doing the 2 for £2 milk! Let the battle begin! No go with the vits i'm afraid as it's only folic acid and not the preg. multi. Still, was worth a try!

That's a point actually. I'll ask how long they're doing it for next time i'm in town. So much cheaper. I was actually inspired to buy some cereal today! I don't normally because the milk's been costing so much!
