We just booked last night with Individual Travellers - Villa in Italy this September for 1 week - £700 in deals £86 onto my credit card. Flights for 3 people £340 - so even including car hire the holiday will cost around £500 in cash.

It's worth doing but just remember that you don't get any change back from your deals, so you're better to top up with cash rather than lose your deals.

Read the T & Cs of whoever you're booking with before ordering your deals.

I'd also recommend doing the conversion first, as you've only got 3 days to send the vouchers to them.

We don't even do our main shop in Tesco, but we do 'clever' shops which earn us points. Our points were built up over 2 years, but the bulk of the vouchers were actually earned in 6 months when we knew we were booking the holiday. We didn't even need all our points, and already have £500 in deals towards next years break.

How much is 1 Tesco club point worth in vouchers? Or is that a silly question? lol. At the moment i have 40 points.

1 point = 1 penny or 4p in deals so I'm afraid you have a way to go yet! :o

Was thinking of Butlins as son really wants to go but really not prepared to waste my vouchers on paying brochure price for there.

you can get butlins as part of the 'sun' holiday token thing but you'd probably have to book online to get a chance of booking it. we had a weekend there in the summer holidays and are going again this year - 3 nights each time cost £125 i think.

i know people say don't stay in butlins standard accommodation but it was fine when we went. 3 of us and nobody had a problem with the chalet. there are 4 lots of us going again this year, fingers crossed the chalets will be okay.

I too have used vouchers to pay for a holiday in venice with kids-siblu.

But with such a shortage of codes around now, I am wondering where everyone else is getting theirs from in order to get enough for this year?

There was not supposed to be a cut off date for 2008 Cosmos holidays, so Tesco have made them take bookings again for Summer 2008. If you still want to go with Cosmos this summer give them another ring and see if your holiday is now available.

You should give 8 weeks notice.

do you only shop online not in store ?

with the lack of online codes :( i have started shopping instore
you can take advantage of being able to use MOCs to get spend down too ( if you store is a good un!)

also open more accounts ;) and sign up to all the clubs baby, wine etc
swap or sell on ebay the coupons you wont /dont use

the recent magazine and party wear points promotions have been good way to gain extra points :)
  • We're planning to use our vouchers against a Virgin Ski holiday next year. Has anyone done this or run up against any problems?

Concerned, for example, about posts saying Cosmos aren't accepting bookings with vouchers for 2008 - has anyone encountered similar probs with Virgin?

    Any tips/advice gratefully received!

Thanks for your tips, but I am being really thick, because I dont know what MOC's are. I do go in store aswell, so I would really appreciate your help.

We used to have loads of 1000 point online codes and yes I do have loads of cards! How will I ever be able to match that by shopping in store?
