It has been worth it for me. I was once in Sainsburys and bought a few things then realised I didn't have any money with me, out came my cashplus! I've also paid for things that I couldn't use electron or things I don't want to go through my bank account!

    Hi
Slightly off what you asked, when you use the Co-op's Electron card, write down what you have spent, as the Co-op bank are a bit slow updating on-line banking! That was my only niggle with the Cashminder account:eek:

    Definitely agree with this.

I have a spreadsheet-type thing that I note down ALL transactions so I can keep track. Some transactions have taken 5/6 days to be debited

A comment about paying cheques in via the post office - I paid a cheque in a week last Friday and it cleared on Friday just gone. Now, with the weekend and the bank holiday to take into account, I didn't think that was too bad actually :)
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p

Online payments for council tax and housing benefit can't be paid for using Electron (at our council anyway), so worth looking into :)
They can at our council (crawley)

W as vodaphone - they said I needed to get my bank to authorise it  Have just received our O2 sim cards though, so we'll be sticking with those. :)
I use vodafone, with mine no probs.

What I do to make sure i get my correct balance is to phone them, speak to a cust serv advisor and ask for my 'available balance' it's not always convenient, but it saves me getting in a pickle with my money.

My council accept Electron and the only place I havent been able to use it was online with Tesco. Everywhere else seems fine, even small independant retailers take it. I have used it in Aldi, Lidl's, Somerfield and Iceland with no problems
  • Not sure if i'm missing something here as i don't have a pre pay card, but doesn't it cost you to make transactions/top up?

If so, why not pay your council tax on a Council Tax Payment Card? they are issued free by the council and you just take them to your local post office and pay over the counter..no charge.
Sorry if i'm teaching you to suck eggs:o
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
