Aktiv Kapital (UK) - Who Are They?

I've just tried to post my update on the sar from Aktiv but I keep getting logged out and losing my post!??

They should then hold the details. However if it is over 6 years then they must get permission from a court to persue the debt.

That was the reply that I got from Aktiv for the SAR that I sent them for OH.

So, what does that mean and what do we do next? I will contact Nation Debtline and update them too and let you all know what they advise.

So do I need to write to them again stating this? Or should we get OH"s credit files to see what's on them first? We were accepted for our mortgage only two years ago so if there was anything adverse on his file surely we would have been turned down.

These idiots have been chasing me for over 11 years. As with a few people who've already posted, it was originally a Barclays debt. Then two years later they tried it with Time Retail Finance (Comet), both debts were for the same period in time (1997) and I've never spoken to Aktiv Kapita, nor will. Yes, they've tried the usual bull****, the 123456 FINAL DEMAND letters (actually, sorry, that's 6 in 2007, 6 in 2006, 6 in 2005 yada yada yada) and of course, who could forget those 'thpeshul' letters telling you that "REPLY TODAY AND GET 25% OFF!!!" or my personal favourite, "REPLY BY MARCH 12TH TO RECEIVE 50% DISCOUNT" (when the letter actually arrived on the 25th March). They're scammers, confidence tricksters and con artists, the lot of them. I would advise people (especially those whose debts are statute barred) to contact watchdog, the Financial Ombudsman, Scambaiters and those guys in the Mirror newspaper who regularly deal with people like this.
It's about time these fraudsters are put out of business :mad:

This is no excuse, from AK, for not complying to their Legal Obligations.

It simply shows that they are picking up on what is probably an old entry on your crf, in the hope of making some easy money out of you.

Do not ring them - especially on an '0870' number.

They must hold some information on you, otherwise how on earth can they be chasing you for an 'alleged debt'. Simply wait for the 40 days to expire, then report them for failing to comply with your Subject Access Request.

It would be nice to have a separate thread, maybe something along the lines of Aktiv Kapital - Owned!! for anyone who finally gets these idiots off their back, and the final correspondence from AK so that we can keep track of how many of us get sorted?

Hi guys,

Just been sent ANOTHER letter straight after the poor reply from Aktiv concerning the SAR.

They basicaslly said we have missed making the next due payment and if we do not get in contact to make one, the agreement we had will cease and the whole amount owed
(£10447.04) will become due and payable.

It's all getting a bit scary and stressfull.:(
