    Lisa..

    £22500 is £1437.38pm after deductions

    £172pw is £8944pa or £745.33pm

    Total = £2182pm

    Plus CB of £30.35 x 52/12 = £131.52pm

    Total Income = £2313pm

And you believe you are entitled to HB and CTB??

    Come on:rolleyes:

No that is what I was quoted when I phoned up the Tax Credit people to change our circumstances. This is just for Hubby returning to work on the figures given. If they have messed it up then that is their problem according to this website.
It could well end up being your problem if there is an overpayment :)

Be VERY careful with the tax credit, if they do make a mistake they will eventually realise it and then will reclaim their money, they did this to us once and I ended up with virtually no money at a time my husband was not working.

No its not, its yours when you get caught up in overpayments.

The HMRC ''do i qualify'' website is accurate. Someone has made a !!!! up.

That says £53pw, so where on earth is £172pw coming from.

£172pw is coming from the information that is fed into the computer more likes. ie our income is £12500:rolleyes:

I hate the tax credit people. I phoned them back to confirm the amount and they have screwed it all up.
They based it on earning nothing last year, even though we told them how much we earned. I have gone through it very "SLOWLY and CAREFULLY" with them and the figure is indeed £52.92 CTC and that is it. Why can people not do their jobs properly first time???? Anyway I got them to fix it straight away as I don't want to owe them anything.

Sorry about the mix up. I hadn't realised the threshold had gone up so much - was working on my ds earning £21,000 and getting the basic element, with two children, last year.

Glad you have it sorted now though - and it seems to all tally up. I would say you can be fairly confident you will get the correct award through, but you can never be sure with them! If it looks wrong, do check it out as overpayments are a nightmare!

When you make mistakes of a magnitude that can badly affect peoples lives then I would think that these, of all people, would be careful to make sure that everything is 100% accurate before awarding anything, harsh it might be but that is life. I wouldn't have been very happy if I had ended up owing £1000's back to the Tax office because they screwed up. Thankfully I was checking this board as well as talking to them so I realised something was wrong in time to prevent a disaster.

    thanks again all.
